2. About The Client:
The client is a lawyer by profession, it was his idea of having a site created which would have all the
lawyers’ details and end customer can easily find it. The main concern for this was the performance and
the scalability.
Client Situation & Challenges:
Client initially has a list of 2000 customers who would be using his site, but then the customer list would
definitely increase over a period of time, client was looking for some service provider with whom he
would have his service be launched which would allow around 5000 customers initially, but then he
wasn't sure if he wanted to directly start of with this number or reduce it. The amount that he would
have to pay to the service provider would be always for the agreed number of customers. There were
documents that were also needed to be saved on the server, the initial space that would be required
and the space that would later be used once his customer list grows was also not predictable. Even in
this case the customer was not sure on what space he should opt for as the space that he would be
agreeing had to be paid even if they were not being fully utilized.
Solution Required:
Looking at the business expansion and addition of customers in the future, it seems application will have
to be managed under high performance and scalable environment which will in turn help to achieve
better performance. Concept of the cloud computing is one of the best suitable environment to this
business as business will take cost for only what they will be using on the cloud. That means, application
will consume cost with respect to memory and scalable instances.
Microsoft Azure is the leading and easily manageable cloud environment which is very useful to this with
providing different levels of security to the application.

Saviant then designed and developed a customized web based application with ability to allow attorney
to register in the site. They can update their profile there. Vemployee have designed one more
application which will be specifically available to end customers. They will be allowed to navigate
through all registered attorneys and they can choose their attorneys as per their requirement.

3. To address the security and scalability concern – Microsoft Windows Azure platform was chosen
wherein application will be hosted in Microsoft datacenters providing better security and trust for end
customers. Application was hosted in the Windows Azure Cloud along with database.

A Secured application with data storage in Windows Azure Cloud.
Does not have to worry about the increasing customer list.
Nor does he have to worry about disk space allotment for saving the document.
Able to increase the required usage and the storage for the application on the cloud with the
help of the cloud interface which he is able to access any time and can increase his usage and
storage with a faster turnaround.
End user are able to access the documents from the nearest datacenter, which increases the
download speed
Data is being replicated at 3 different centers, so need not have to worry about data loss.
Highly scalable based on customer usage.
