The client needed to automate the process of preparing and recording Uniform Commercial Code (UCC) documents which was previously done manually. Saviant developed a web application hosted on Microsoft Azure that allows bulk uploading of UCC information and automatically generates the documents based on recording jurisdiction rules. It also includes database backups to the client's internal servers. This automated solution improved the speed and cycle time for UCC document recording.

Enterprise systems today are moving towards being dynamic where change has become the norm rather than the exception. Such systems need to be loosely coupled, autonomous, versatile and adaptive. There arises the need to model such systems, and event driven architecture (EDA) is how such systems can be modelled and explained.
This webinar will discuss
The basics of EDA
How it can benefit your enterprise
How the WSO2 product stack complements this architectural pattern
WSO2Con ASIA 2016: Event Driven Architecture: Managing Business Dynamics for ...WSO2
Service oriented architecture (SOA) provides a platform for IT environments that are more agile by enabling IT professionals to design flexible system that can adapt rapidly to meet the changing business needs of an enterprise. SOA implements a synchronous request-response model to connect remote processes in distributed system. It creates an inherent rigidity and additional dependencies when applied in modelling business processes and workflows.
In contrast, event driven architecture (EDA) is based on an asynchronous message-driven communication model to propagate information throughout an enterprise. By describing business activities as a series of events it doesn’t bind functionally disparate systems and teams into the same management model. This allows it to support a more natural alignment with an enterprise’s operational model and processes/workflows.
This session starts by analyzing key businesses challenges that encourage the use of EDA. Then we will deep dive into the fundamental concepts of EDA. Finally, we will discuss a pragmatic approach of designing and implementing an EDA using the WSO2 integration framework.
Insight makes it simple to increase your revenue while offering you the opportunity to differentiate your portfolio and deliver increase value to your customers.

This is a presentation based on the 2012 R2 generation of the Microsoft Cloud OS, including Microsoft Azure, Windows Server 2012 R2, Hyper-V, and System Center 2012 R2. It spans Microsoft public cloud IaaS, partner operated public cloud, and private cloud.
Azure SQL Database (SQL DB) is a database-as-a-service (DBaaS) that provides nearly full T-SQL compatibility so you can gain tons of benefits for new databases or by moving your existing databases to the cloud. Those benefits include provisioning in minutes, built-in high availability and disaster recovery, predictable performance levels, instant scaling, and reduced overhead. And gone will be the days of getting a call at 3am because of a hardware failure. If you want to make your life easier, this is the presentation for you.
Microsoft Azure vs Amazon Web Services (AWS) Services & Feature MappingIlyas F ☁☁☁
If you are a Cloud Architect, Developer, IT Manager, Director or whoever may be, if you are associated with Azure or AWS cloud in some form, I’m sure you must have come across a common question.
“What is the alternate service available in Azure or AWS vice versa and it’s pricing?” I’m sure you will say yes!
Agreed, it’s hard to remember all the services offered by public clouds, i.e. Azure and AWS. Remembering existing services and their benefits itself is a big task, on top of that updating ourselves with the new feature releases and enhancements is another major task.
So I put together a Service & Feature Mappings between Microsoft Azure & AWS for my and colleagues quick reference.

Enterprise data centres have traditionally used servers and storage that typically scale only to a few nodes. Even small capacity or performance scales required large installation increments or worse, required replicating the existing IT infrastructure, which is prohibitive in terms of cost and space. An important impediment was that as storage capacity increased, system performance and efficiency suffered. In addition, IT budgets came under pressure and created high entry barriers to scale for enterprise class data centres. However, virtualization and cloud platforms are changing that. IT departments can now linearly scale to several server and storage nodes rapidly, for capacity and performance without compromising on efficiency and to keep costs under control. This helps save space via hardware consolidation, improves productivity, and derives a competitive advantage through increased availability, lean administration, and fast deployment times.
The on-demand provision of computer services, including servers, storage, databases, networking, software, and analytics, is known as cloud computing. Cloud-based storage enables distant file saving as opposed to local storage or proprietary hard disk storage. Due to its ability to provide cost savings, enhanced productivity, speed and efficiency, performance, and security, cloud computing is becoming more and more popular among individuals and enterprises.

Physical to Virtual (P2V) & Backup to Virtual (B2V) Conversions with Backup E...Symantec
Convert-to-Virtual, Backup-to-Virtual, and Point-in-Time Conversions with Backup Exec 2014
Backup Exec 2014 continues to invest in virtualization technology. Features included in the Backup Exec 2014 product help administrators solve the problem of moving physical servers to a virtual environment and also give administrators unique tools for leveraging virtualization technology for disaster recovery. These features are the ability to perform automated conversions of physical servers to a virtual machine replica, perform automated conversions of physical servers – using existing backup sets – to a virtual machine replica, and perform “ad hoc” or on-demand conversions of physical server backups to a virtual machine replica.
Convert to Virtual (P2V)
The Backup Exec 2014 P2V feature allows administrators to configure backup definitions for physical servers that protect the server by both storing backup data to the Backup Exec server and creating a virtual machine replica of the server on an available VMware or Hyper-V host.
For backup definitions configured with a P2V task, the backup operation and the virtual machine replica operation occur in parallel.
Backup to Virtual (B2V)
A Backup Exec 2014 backup definition configured with a B2V task is similar to a backup definition configured with a P2V task; however, B2V jobs run the backup and virtual machine replica operations serially, meaning the backup operation runs first, and the virtual replica portion runs immediately afterwards or on a different schedule.
Point-in-Time Virtual Conversions
Another method of creating a virtual machine replica of physical servers using Backup Exec 2014 is the ad hoc or Point-in-Time method. This method is not scheduled, and is not directly associated with any particular backup definition. It simply enables an administrator to create a virtual machine replica, on demand, of any physical machine that has been backed up to a Backup Exec server using an SDR-enabled backup.
The P2V, B2V, and Point-in-Time conversion features of Backup Exec 2014 can be used by administrators to move physical servers to a virtual environment permanently for migration purposes, or temporarily for testing or quick failover.

2. About The Client:
Since 1994, Client has provided processing and technology solutions for the residential and commercial
loan servicing industries. They streamline the lien release/assignment process for residential and
commercial loans and all or any part of the process can be fully customized from start to finish. The list
of services they provide includes - Lien Release Services, Assignment Services, Document Retrieval, Title
Policy Retrieval, Document Control Services, UCC services, Recording Services, Financial Analysis
Preparation etc.
Client Situation & Challenges:
UCC is the document that is recorded at the county or town and/or the Secretary of State’s Office as
proof that the “Personal Property” listed on the document is being used as security for a loan. Being a
leading service provider in loan service industry – client was approached/contracted by some companies
to have automatic system for Preparing and Recording UCC Terminations for loans which have been paid
in full and UCC’s which needs to be continued. They didn’t have any automated way of creating the UCC
documents. Customers used to send them UCC document information in the format of Excel and then
using that information – they were doing the paper work manually. Preparing the UCC documents
manually is a very tedious and complex process –there are lots of rules for formats of information and
legal things which need to be considered depending on the Recording Jurisdiction /county where the
property is located in or where the document is to be recorded. Keeping all those rules in mind or
checking it for each document to prepare was a very difficult job and was ultimately slowing down the
process of preparing and recording UCC documents.
Solution Required:
In order to speed up of the recording process – they needed a web application which can handle the
process of UCC document creation up to recording with minimal manual work. This will replace their
existing manual process of handling UCC documents. In this process of providing web solution –
maintaining end customer trust on data security was important.
Solution Offered:
Saviant team first understood the client business and analyzed the manual process of recording the UCC
document.
Saviant then designed and developed a customized web based application with ability to bulk upload
the UCC information in client specific formats e.g. XML files and generate the UCC documents
automatically considering the recording jurisdictions where property is located. It also provided way to
www.saviantconsulting.com
3. manage the recording district requirements easily so if any document related requirement changes – it
is very easy to change the process quickly.
With the help of client login functionality - client themselves can fill in the required UCC information on
this new system instead of sending the information in the form of files to RMG. It also allows them to
keep track of UCC document recording and check the status time to time.
To address the security and scalability concern – Microsoft Windows Azure platform was chosen
wherein application will be hosted in Microsoft datacenters providing better security and trust for end
customers.
Application was hosted in the Windows Azure Cloud along with database. Though databases are hosted
safely on the SQL Azure - one of the major concern or requirement was to have the copy of database on
RMG internal servers. They wanted to have backup of data on their internal servers for analysis and
backup purpose. In short – they needed a daily database maintenance plan to backup the SQL azure
databases on to their local servers.
Since the databases are on Azure – there was no direct way to backup the databases. There are some
third party tools available in the market which can back up the Azure database but again it involves
purchasing cost. In addition to it – Azure billing would have gone up automatically since data would be
transferred from Azure service.
So cost effective solution was needed – which can pull the data from Azure without requiring Azure
Service to do anything. Saviant team quickly came up with solution of developing SSIS packages to copy
the database daily from SQL azure. Automatic notifications were added to make sure that packages are
running daily.
Client Benefits:
Automatic creation of UCC documents based of recording jurisdiction requirements:
Secured application and data storage in Windows Azure Cloud.
Effective strategy for cloud database backup on on-premises server.
Robust and scalable UCC management portal.
Improved speed and cycle for UCC document recording process.
Reporting and UCC document audits

4. Summary:
With the automatic way of creating UCC documents and taking care of data security and backups
through Azure Cloud - Saviant has enhanced the core business functionality for the client resulting into
higher business turnaround and more satisfied clients for “RMG”.
