Attendance - Regular attendance is very important for success in school. If a student is
absent they will have to provide a written/signed excuse. The excuse should include the
child's name, the date, reason, and signature of parent/guardian.
Tardy - If a student arrives to class later than 8:00 a.m. it will be required for them to
provide a written note which provides reasoning for being tardy.
Bathroom - We will have designated bathroom break times. During this time students
should not be disruptive as we walk down the hall, wash their hands, and get drinks. If a
student needs to use the restroom between break times, they may ask at a time when I'm
not giving directions or instructions, and go quickly/quietly.
Breakfast - Breakfast express will be served in the classroom at 7:50 a.m. All breakfasts
include juice, milk, and an entre.
Dismissal - The school day ends at 3:20 p.m. Students will exit through the main front
doors. Students will not be released to anyone but an adult that has permission to pick
them up. Parents should let me know a head of time if someone different will be picking
their child up.
Snack - Each day at 11:25 we will have a nutritious snack break. The school provides a
vegetable or fruit daily, but that is all. Students will be responsible for bringing their own
snack to school if they want more than just the fruit/vegetable. I encourage bringing
healthy snacks.
Library - The class will visit the library once a week. Students will select one book for
the week that should take them the full week to read. Students need to keep up with and
take care of their library books.
Lunch - Lunch will be at 12:50 every day. Students will line up at 12:45 and we will
walk quietly to the lunchroom. If students have packed a lunch, they may sit at our
designated table, students who did not pack a lunch will go through the line in a mannerly
fashion. During lunch students should eat their own food and keep their hands on their
own trays.
Recess - Recess will follow lunch daily. During this time students will play and release
some energy. They must play in a safe way, though. No climbing up the slides or standing
on swings.
