My original film opening pitch

1. MY FILM OPENING PITCH

2. BACKGROUND
Setting: The future, the year 2050
Background: The government has
intervened due to a lack of confidence in
the human race. They agreed that the
human race could not be trusted to
protect the world and so they set out to
eliminate speech and face to face
communication. They have used a form of
mind control using special devices to
ensure that everyone follows the rules.

3. NARRATIVE OF OPENING
 Open on a blurred, unsteady shot of a
young girl running down the street. The
camera angle switches between her point of
view, the spectators and a security camera.
 The shot is from her point of view as she
looks down at her arm, rolls up her sleeve
and reveals a message engraved on her
arm, it reads: ERROR CODE 404- signifying
to the audience that something has gone
wrong.
 Change to a family sitting around a table,
mindlessly eating dinner. There is no speech
between them all and they all appear to be
brainwashed or in some kind of dazed
sleep.
 The girl bursts through the front door, panting and
screaming at the family sitting down.
 It all falls silent and the family look up from their meals
and turn towards the girl with emotionless expressions.
 The girl begins to cry and scream out for her mother and
father to “snap out of it” and “wake up!”. By this point the
audience is aware that she is special and different to the
others.
 A siren/or loud noise is heard and then the camera
changes to the girl’s point of view again as a hand holding
a cloth reaches out from behind her, smothering her.
Whimpering sounds are heard as the camera fades to
black.

actions taken by the human race.
