2. Question 1/
The first question I asked on the survey for my portrait
shoot was “Do you think my images are suitable to be
in a Rock music magazine?” when I took the analyzed
results for my survey there was 8 people that had
completed my survey. 7 of those 8 people said yes to
the question. And one person said that some are
suitable enough. In other words there were some
images they didn't think worked well. At least no one
said “No” which would mean they didn't think any of
my images remotely looked suitable for the style of
images I was trying to produce.
3. Question 2/
“Do you think the colour in my images works
well?” was the second question. All of the
responses to this question were Yes. 100%
responses choosing the best selection that
could’ve been chosen. No one said no so that's
a good sign as the colouring in my images must
be good. So far I don't feel any improvements
are needed to my images.
4. Question 3/
The third question I ask was “Do you
think the location choices for my
images work well?” Similar to the first
question 7 out of 8 of my responses
said “Yes, they work very well” and one
person said “They’re okay”. So no one
answered with the worst answer “No
they don’t work well”. Which again is
nice because I genuinely feel like there
isn't improvements needed in changing
the locations. When I mentally
imagined this shoot I pictured these
locations as I really did think they would
be perfect. I do feel the locations work
well especially when considering the
style of the images I needed to take.
5. Question 4/
The last question on my portrait survey is “If there is room for
improvement what do you think I could improve on the most?” on
this question I gave the option for multiple answer as I wanted people
to have the chance to select what ever they thought. The one with
most of the selections was “Colouring” which had 4 responses. This is
a bit odd as the results for question 2 which was about the colour in
my images all got positive responses. As though I didn't need to
improve on it. The next ones were Sharpness and Brightness and
Contrast which both had 3 selections. I do feel I could improve with
both of these statements as some of my images were quite dark
(however that was the overall style of them) and I didn't really focus
on the sharpness of my images as sometimes it can make them look
quite grainy and messy at times. Then there was Shadowing and Black
and white joint with one selection. I do feel that on the images I did
use black and white on worked well. I didn't put the whole of any of
my pictures in black and white but just some of the backgrounds to
avoid drawing too much attention to the background and not the
foreground. And with Shadowing, I didn't necessarily adjust the
shadowing individually. I just took the shadowing into consideration
whilst changing the other settings around a little. However on some of
my images there is some quite heavy shadowing which was
intentional. And the one which didn't have any selections was the
location. So despite having one person say the locations worked good
for only some images and not all they didn't select location as being
something I could improve on. Which makes me think, did the people
that completed my survey really pay attention to the questions? I
don't know but either way according to my results I don't need to
improve on my Location choices for this shoot.
