all need people to talk to and share
life’s ups and downs with
★ If you’ve lost touch with someone,
why not give them a ring?
Have Some ‘Me’ Time - Do Something You
Enjoy!
★ Be selfish, make time for you
★ Do something you enjoy but
don’t get the chance to do
very often
Challenge Yourself
★ Do something difficult or
challenging
★ You’ll feel really positive that you
achieved it afterwards!
Avoid Unhealthy Habits
Unhealthy habits can affect our mental
health. Try to avoid:
★ Processed and fried food
★ Sugar, sweets and fizzy drinks
★ Alcohol and tobacco, they can affect
your mood
Try to be Positive
★ Not always easy, but if you think bad
things will always happen, they
probably will
★ Trying to see the good in everything
will help
Help Other People
★ Doing someone a good turn makes
you feel better and is a nice thing to
do
★ Why not try to help someone each
day, a kind word or helping hand
also makes them feel better
★ Try it, you’ll probably like doing it!
Accept What You Can’t Change
★ Try not to worry about something
that you cannot change. We all do it,
but it never makes things better
★ Accepting that somethings are just
the way they are can help you to
concentrate on what is important

  • 2. Be Active! ★ Exercise is good for your mental health! ★ Doing something physical helps to get rid of negative thoughts and things that are concerning you
  • 3. Connect With People ★ Meet with friends and family, we all need people to talk to and share life’s ups and downs with ★ If you’ve lost touch with someone, why not give them a ring?
  • 4. Have Some ‘Me’ Time - Do Something You Enjoy! ★ Be selfish, make time for you ★ Do something you enjoy but don’t get the chance to do very often
  • 5. Challenge Yourself ★ Do something difficult or challenging ★ You’ll feel really positive that you achieved it afterwards!
  • 6. Avoid Unhealthy Habits Unhealthy habits can affect our mental health. Try to avoid: ★ Processed and fried food ★ Sugar, sweets and fizzy drinks ★ Alcohol and tobacco, they can affect your mood
  • 7. Try to be Positive ★ Not always easy, but if you think bad things will always happen, they probably will ★ Trying to see the good in everything will help
  • 8. Help Other People ★ Doing someone a good turn makes you feel better and is a nice thing to do ★ Why not try to help someone each day, a kind word or helping hand also makes them feel better ★ Try it, you’ll probably like doing it!
  • 9. Accept What You Can’t Change ★ Try not to worry about something that you cannot change. We all do it, but it never makes things better ★ Accepting that somethings are just the way they are can help you to concentrate on what is important
