1. Topic:- The relationship between family life education and the values and
attitudes of adolescents
Abstract
Adolescents in the high schools who are exposed to family life education are expected to
develop appropriate values and attitudes and transfer these values and attitudes to their own
children. There seems to be a relationship between the exposure to Family Life Education
and the values and attitude of adolescents from a school in St Andrew. The researcher
employed the quantitative approach and use questionnaires to collect data. Based on the
findings, there is a positive relationship between exposure to family life education and the
values and attitudes of adolescent, Family Life Education will significantly reduce the
prevalence of teenage pregnancy, exposures to Family Life Education facilitate adolescents’
appreciation and respect towards themselves and their family. Family Life Education should
continue and extended to more schools so as to change the values and attitudes of adolescents
in the Jamaican society.
