MEANING OF INPUT DEVICE
 An input device is a piece of computer equipment such
as keyboard which enable you to put information into
a computer
MEANING OF OUTPUT
DEVICE
 A piece of equipment/hardware which gives out the
result of the entered input, once it is processed
EXAMPLES OF AN OUTPUT
DEVICE
 PRINTER: In computing,
a printer is a peripheral ma
chine which makes persistent
representation of graphics or
text usually on paper.
MONITOR:A
monitor is an
output device
that displays
information in
pictorial or
textual form.
TERMINAL:A terminal
is an electronic or electro
mechanical hardware
device that can be used
for entering data into, and
transcribing data from a
computer or a computing
system.
PROJECTOR: A projector or an image projector is an
optical device that project an image(or moving image)
onto a surface commonly on a projection screen
LOUDSPEAKER: A loudspeaker is an electroacoustic
transducer that convert and electrical audio signal into
a corresponding sound
HEADPHONES: Headphones are pairs of small
loudspeaker driver worn on or around the head or a
user’s ears.
PLOTTER: A plotter is a machine that produces vector
graphics drawings. Plotter draw lines on paper using a
pen, or in some application uses a knife to a the
material like vinyl or leather.
EXAMPLES OF AN INPUT
DEVICE
OPTICAL MOUSE: An optical mouse is a computer
mouse which uses a light source, typically a light-
emitting diode(LED)and a light detector, such as and
array of photodiodes, to detect movement relative to a
surface.
 CAMERA: A camera is an optical instrument used to capture
and store images and videos, either digitally via an electronic image
sensor, or chemically via a light-sensitive material such
as photographic film. As a pivotal technology in the fields of
photography and videography, cameras have played a significant
role in the progression of visual arts, media, entertainment,
surveillance, and scientific research.
GAMEPAD: Some common additions to the standard pad include
shoulder buttons (also called "bumpers") and triggers placed along
the edges of the pad (shoulder buttons are usually digital, i.e.
merely on/off; while triggers are usually analog); centrally
placed start, select, and home buttons, and an internal motor to
provide force feedback. Analog triggers, like that of the GameCube
controller, are pressure-sensitive and games can read in the amount
of pressure applied to one to control the intensity of a certain
action, such as how forceful water is to be sprayed in
 GAME CONTROLLER: A game
controller, gaming controller, or
simply controller, is an input
device or input/output device used
with video games or entertainment systems
to provide input to a video game. Input
devices that have been classified as game
controllers
include keyboard, mouse, gamepads,
and joysticks, as well as special purpose
devices, such as steering wheels for driving
games and light guns for shooting games.
Controllers designs have evolved to
include directional pads, multiple
buttons, analog sticks, joysticks, motion
detection, touch screens and a plethora of
other features.
 DIGITAL CAMERA: A digital camera is a camera that captures
photographs in digital memory. Most cameras produced today are
digital,[1] largely replacing those that capture images
on photographic film. Digital cameras are now widely incorporated
into mobile devices like smartphones with the same or more
capabilities and features of dedicated cameras (which are still
available).[2] High-end, high-definition dedicated cameras are still
commonly used by professionals and those who desire to take
higher-quality photographs.[3]
Digital and digital movie cameras share an optical system, typically
using a lens with a variable diaphragm to focus light onto an image
pickup device.[4] The diaphragm and shutter admit a controlled
amount of light to the image, just as with film, but the image pickup
device is electronic rather than chemical. However, unlike film
cameras, digital cameras can display images on a screen
immediately after being recorded, and store and delete images
from memory.
 LIGHT PEN: A light pen is a computer input device in the form
of a light-sensitive wand used in conjunction with a
computer's cathode-ray tube (CRT) display.
It allows the user to point to displayed objects or draw on the screen
in a similar way to a touchscreen but with greater positional
accuracy. A light pen can work with any CRT-based display, but its
ability to be used with LCDs was unclear
