Ceramics are materials made from clay and cement that are hardened by heat. They include many household and building items like bricks, tiles, and pots. Ceramics are brittle, can withstand high temperatures, and do not rust. They have many uses including in ovens, bricks, floor tiles, spark plugs, and sanitary units. Glass is a hard, usually transparent material formed by melting sand and other ingredients at high heat. It is brittle but transparent and resistant to corrosion. Common glass products include cups, bottles, mirrors, light bulbs, windows, and eyeglasses.

temperature and allowing it to cool. It can be
coloured by adding some substances to it
while in the molten state.
