2. Introduction
I have decided to call my music magazine impact as it fits the nature of the
music magazine with the rock/metal genre being reckless and boisterous as it is,
the name impact portrays something unique and memorable. I chose this genre
because I am a fan of it myself.
This was a good decision because I have a lot of knowledge about the rock
genre making it useful for me to experiment and create new ideas for font types.
This genre was a good decision because it is well known but only supported
often by groups of people with unique view points making my magazine
memorable
3. Font of rock magazines
Bold and often sharp fonts are used in most rock magazines along with vibrant
colours either in the text or in the colour scheme. These are used to make
memorable effects of their magazines on people.
5. Connotations of fonts
Black box this is bold and deep so creates image of loud impacting music
Monohypster is unique and bold so amplifies psychographic profiling in the ways of
being outcasted it is also lively like the genre of rock
Broken glass is bold and cracked and highlights the boisterous and
ruthless nature of the genre
Babalusa cut shows the magazines nature by making the masthead look cut
shows how the magazine
Highjack shows loudness and makes for an almost technobeat sort of magazine so
in that way it fits and doesn’t fit the genre of the magazine
Wox stripped makes the magazine look exciting and fun giving it the
nature of rock genre but also makes it look more R&B
Love box is bold and highlights the I in the title showing the almost
ruthless nature of rock music
Disposition demo looks slick and rugged showing the smooth but
reckless nature of rock artists.
6. Decision
I have decided to use broken glass 74 font as it is the most boldly noticeable
and loud as well as the shattered affect highlighting the reckless “I don’t care”
nature of rock/metal music more than the other fonts I found.
