1. AfterI hadcompletedmakingall mymodelsforthe space stationthe nextthingIhad to complete
was texturingandplacesUV mapson my surfacesmakingitreadyforwhenI do myrender.AsI was
surfacingall of my modelswhilstcompletingthe modelsIthenjusthadto locate the namedsurfaces
withinthe surface editorpanel andapplythe correcttexture.Butaswe can see below IplacedUV
maps onsome modelsandaddedan image tothem.
The firststepI did wasto locate whatI savedthe surfacesas withinthe surface editortab,once Ihad
done thisI wasthenable to start addingUV maps.
The nextstepwas to adda UV map to the chosensurface;thiswasdone byusingthe map tab and
thenselectingthe correctoption.Afterdoingthis Ihadto finda suitable picture thatwouldfitwithin
it.
NowI had createdthe UV map,the nextstepwasto printscreenthe map andthenplace it in
Photoshop,once inPhotoshopIwasthenable toeditmy chosenphototothe shape of the UV map.
2. Once editingandsavingoutmy picture fromPhotoshopasa JPEG I was thenable tocreate the
finishedUV texture withinmodeller.TodothisI had to selectsurface editor,thenmychosen
surface,butas the picturesabove shw Ihad to clickon the T symbol withinit.
The imagesabove showthe stepsandoptionsyouhave to selectwhencreatingthe UV map tomake
sure the image isplace on it properlyandlookshow youwantit to.
3. Once I had completed all of the UV textureswithinmymodel,the laststeptocomplete wasto
importa backgroundto make it looklike the model wasactuallyinspace.
