 Recruitment is the process of actively seeking out,
finding and hiring candidates for a specific position
or job.
 The recruitment definition includes the entire hiring
process, from inception to the individual recruit’s
integration into the company.

Methods of Recruiting: Internal
 Internal recruitment is when the business looks to fill the
vacancy from within its existing workforce.
 The workforce is already familiar with the working with
the firm and how it operates. Also, it is a cheap and
quick method.
 But as always, there are limitations too- No new ideas
can be introduced from outside and promotion creates
another vacancy which needs to be filled.
Methods of Recruiting: External
 External recruitment is when the business looks to fill
the vacancy from any suitable applicant outside the
business.
 Some advantages include outside people bringing in
new ideas along with a larger pool of candidates to
choose from.
 On the other hand, it is a longer and a more expensive
process due to advertising and interviews required.

 Social recruiting refers to the process of recruiting
candidates through social media platforms, like
 LinkedIn
 Facebook

 This method is a more efficient and cost-effective
alternative to conventional recruiting.

 Recruitment websites are sites that act as
third parties to help both recruiter and
applicants communicate at and on the
primary stage of recruitment.

AR and VR
 Given how complex and competitive today’s job landscape
has become, recruiters need new tools to give them an edge.
Cutting-edge technologies such as Augmented Reality and
Virtual Reality can make a real difference.
 These technologies can help recruiters to identify the perfect
fit for the job by looking at their sense of making a decision
or testing their capabilities.
 Great for testing the decision making abilities and how the
candidate reacts in certain situations.
Employee Referrals
 Companies and organizations use employee referrals to
find talented people by asking their existing employees to
recommend candidates from their existing networks.
 In return, companies offer their employees different types
of employee referral rewards.
 It is noted that employee referral increases employee
retention rate and also improves quality of hire.
 On the downside, the employees referring their
acquaintances may be biased and hence lead to say, under
or over-qualified personnel.
