Quality is never an accident,
it is always the result of high

intelligent direction and
skillful execution. It represents
the wise choice of many
alternatives.
4. In manufacturing, a measure of excellence or a state of
being free from defects, deficiencies and significant
variations. It is brought about by strict and consistent
commitment to certain standards that achieve uniformity
of a product in order to satisfy specific customer or user
requirements.

Organization) defines
quality as āThe totality of
features and characteristics
of a product or service that
bears its ability to satisfy
stated or implied needs."

10. QUALITY ASSURANCE AND SOFTWARE
DEVELOPMENT
QA is also applied to software to
verify that features and
functionality meet business
objectives, and that code is
relatively bug free prior to
shipping or releasing new
software products and versions.
Quality Assurance is any
systematic process of checking
to see whether a product or
service being developed is
meeting specified requirements.
11. HISTORY AND INITIAL EFFORTS
ā¢ During the time of the First World War, manufacturing
processes typically became more complex with larger
numbers of workers being supervised.
ā¢ This period saw the widespread introduction of mass
production and piece work, which created problems as
workmen could now earn more money by the production of
extra products, which in turn occasionally led to poor quality
workmanship being passed on to the assembly lines.
ā¢ To counter bad workmanship, full-time inspectors were
introduced to identify, quarantine and ideally correct product
quality failures.
