Remove Victim from Exposure area
If patient finds breathing difficult - give
oxygen through a face mask.
Apply artificial respiration if patient is not
breathing.

Immediately rinse mouth with
Water.
If swallowed, do NOT induce
vomiting.
Get to a doctor or hospital quickly.
14. In case of FIRE…
Shut off all possible sources of ignition
Clear area of all unprotected personnel
Knock down pockets of gas with fog
water spray, and ventilate the area
using forced-draft if necessary.

MEASURES
Small Spill
Only personnel trained for, and
designated to handle emergencies,
should attempt to stop a leak.
Keep unprotected personnel upwind of
spill area.
Use water fog to suppress airborne
vapors from leak or spill
17. ACCIDENTAL RELEASE

Large Spill
Evacuate all unprotected personnel to
upwind areas.
Disperse leaks with water spray or fog
to lower concentration of ammonia gas.
Neutralise contaminated area with a
dilute acid, and deluge with plenty of
water.
Keep area isolated until all

Close all windows and doors, seal with duct tape
or wet towels.
Shut off furnace, exhaust fans, fireplaces, and air
conditioners
Wait for and follow advice from local police or
authorities.
