13. Overview of Placements/Internships Policy (A draft, structure
still in making)
• Policy for Students who reject Jobs/Internships - Students who reject either
internship or job offers after receiving offer letters through IIT Madras will not be
given any placement or internship support in the future. Students who skip the
interviews/written tests will also be ineligible to get any placement or internship
support in the future.
• Students who are doing on-campus courses or pursuing 2 courses would require
to dedicate time commitments with their Internships
• Internships - Stipend: We are asking all the companies to share the stipend
information. Some companies choose to fix the stipend details after analysing the
student profiles and based on the duration of the internship.
• Jobs - CTC: We surely post the information related to the CTC when it comes to
full time jobs. We will ask companies to share the salary information mandatorily.
14. General Instructions
1. Apply for companies wisely!
2. Be clear about your choice of profile and weigh your chances well.
3. Students cannot forgo any selection round post the tests
4. Students found in possession of prohibited items, or caught indulging in unfair
practices during the tests will lead to the suspension of access to the placement
process with immediate effect and would invite further disciplinary action. This will be
enforced very strictly.
5. Internships and Placements would happen throughout the academic year.
6. A student has a time defined from the announcement of the offer to accept or reject the
offer, after which the offer will be deemed rejected. In case a student receives multiple
offers, he/she can choose one among the standing offers. Students would be able apply
to multiple companies till an offer is announced from a company.
7. Irrespective of acceptance or rejection, the student will be deregistered from the
placement process, i.e., he/she cannot continue with the process of internships or
placements.
15. Placement/Internship Policies (a draft, structure still
in making)
1. Attendance for placement tests is compulsory, we encourage our students to attend the tests to
measure various skills to improve one’s employability.
2. Students cannot forgo any selection process conducted by the companies they have registered for.
This includes group discussions and interviews. Failure in abiding by the above would result in the indefinite
suspension of the access to the placement process.
3. A student can have at the most one offer in hand at the end of the placement process.
1. Once a student gets an offer, he is considered placed irrespective of acceptance or rejection of the
offer, and he cannot continue with the process further.
1. Placement opportunities would be available to the students in Slots. Each slot would have a number of
companies. Students would be eligible to apply to multiple companies within a slot. Until the student receives the
final selection, he/she would be eligible to apply to companies in the next slots.
1. If a student receives multiple offers in the same time window slot, he can choose at most one of them
within the time window.
1. If a waitlisted student gets an offer in a later slot, and later gets a confirmation from the company that
waitlisted him, he can choose between both offers.
