universe.

planets and there satellites (or moons) and
thousands of other smaller heavily bodies,
such as asteroids, comets, and meteors.
•The solar system is dominated by the sun.

• Sun is a star

• It contains about 98%of all the rocks,
dust, and gas in the solar system
• It consists mainly of hydrogen and
helium.
• The reaction in the sun release
enormous amount of energy.
• Without the sun energy and heat
there would be no life on earth

the earth. This means It would take 13
lakh earths to fill the sun.

• It is the gravitational pull between the sun and the planets that
binds all the planets and in their own path.
• The easiest method to locate the planets in the night sky is that
planets don’t twinkle.
• They don’t have their own light.
• The light of the sun fall on the planets and they reflect the light.
