This document provides an overview of hotel review platforms. It discusses how most platforms allow both reviews and booking capabilities. A survey found over 40 major platforms that have emerged since the late 1990s. While many platforms lack usability, some like TripAdvisor integrate well with social media. The level of review detail can differ between platforms as content is community-driven. A test by a consumer organization evaluated some of the big players in this area.
