Definition of team
A team comprises a group of people
linked in a common purpose. Teams
are especially appropriate for
conducting tasks.

Role structures
The set of defined roles and
interrelationships among those roles that
the group or team members define and
accept.
A result of role episodes in which the
expected role is translated and defined into
the enacted role.
Team goal
Increased flexibility in in skills and abilities.
More productive than work groups with individual mindset.
Focuses on group goals to accomplish more beneficial tasks
More beneficial in times of organizational change

1. Forming
 Team acquaints and establishes
ground rules. Formalities are
preserved and members are
treated as strangers.
2. Storming
 Members start to communicate their
feelings but still view themselves as
individuals rather than part of the team.
They resist control by group leaders and
show hostility.
3. Norming
 People feel part of the team and
realize that they can achieve work if
they accept other viewpoints.
4. Performing
 The team works in an open and trusting
atmosphere where flexibility is the key
and hierarchy is of little importance.
5. Adjourning
 The team conducts an assessment of the
year and implements a plan for transitioning
roles and recognizing member’s
contributions.
Task3.3
Improve the relations among the employees
Team members can also gain from each other.
Tasks are accomplished at a faster pace when it is
done by a team rather than an individual

Teamwork as a concept has grown over the last 20 years.
However, teamwork success is not automatic. Teams have
to be established for the right reasons. Team member
selection is very important, as is ensuring that the team
purpose is clear and agreed upon.
