 Academic cheating is defined as representing
someone else’s work as your own. It can take
many forms, including;
1.Sharing another’s work,
2.Purchasing a term paper or test questions in
advance,
3.Paying another to do the work for you.
 Plagiarism
 Deception
 Cheating
 Bribery
 Sabotage
 Professional misconduct
 Impersonation
 The adoption or
reproduction of
original creations
of another author
without due
acknowledgment
 Providing false
information to an
instructor concerning a
formal academic
exercise—e.g., giving a
false excuse for missing
a deadline or falsely
claiming to have
submitted work.
 Any attempt to
give or obtain
assistance in a
formal academic
exercise (like
an examination)
without due
acknowledgment.
It is paid services.
That is giving
certain test
answers for money.
 Acting to prevent others from completing
their work. This includes cutting pages out of
library books or willfully disrupting the
experiments of others.
 Professional acts that are academically
fraudulent equate to academic fraud and
grade fraud.
 Impersonation is a form of cheating whereby
a different person than the student assigned
an assignment or exam completes it.
 Students use different ways for cheating such
as:
 Fingernail Method
 Reflection method
 calculator Method
 Looking method
 Pen Cap method
 Desk Method
 Alternative Sleeve Method
 White Ink Method
 Students write down information on the
fingernails and it is the easy way for looking
at their hands.
 Students use reflective surface folder on
exam day. They Scribble the necessary notes
on the surface using a sharp piece of metal
and look at it from the right angle. The notes
show up.
 By using scientific calculator students can
solve mathematical and other problems.
 By simply cracking your neck or something
like that, try to take a brief look at the paper
of another student
 Students take short notes on small slip of
paper and then roll up and slip the paper into
the cap of pen.
 This is a very easy but complicated method
that can be used for almost any test. Students
keep their notes in desks.
 Some students slide the paper with their
notes or answers into their sleeve.
 Some students write in a barley visible color
e-g. pale yellow or white on their arm.
 vice chancellors of five different universities
 50 teachers from different schools, colleges
and universities
 200 students from different schools, colleges
and universities of different provinces.
 100% of the heads of institutions said that
cheating is not out of control and they have
controlled cheating in their respective
institutions.
 92% of university teachers said that it’s not
out of control and 8% of them said that it is
impossible to control until and unless
students do not correct themselves morally.
 95% of school and college teachers said that
cheating is out of control because of our
environment. They help students to cheat
because of personal relations with the students.
And 5% of them said that cheating is not out of
control and they do not support any cheating
activity
 89% students told that cheating is totally out of
control. 9% of students said that it is not totally
out of control but it is difficult to control and
only 2% of students said that cheating is not out
of control.
 From our survey we conclude that 49.75% 0f
the people said that cheating is controllable
and 50.25% people said that cheating is
totally out of Control.
 Students take pressure to succeed in a highly
competitive world.
 They see cheating in every fact of life:
politics, business, home, and school
 Students do not do hard work. So to find
shortcuts they try to cheat
 Students cheat in exams to get higher grades.
 Incompletion of course in time.
 We consider it as our right.
 Some students help their friends and poor
students in exam so that they may get
passed.
 Invigilation staff is not strict
 Invigilation staff has personal relations with
students.
 As for as assignments are concerned teachers
do not check the home assignments, so
students cheat and copy assignments of one
another.
 Students sometime get a very short time for
assignments. So they copy from one another
or from the internet.
 Students Awareness
 Role of parents
 Role of teachers
 Role of ulma-e-karams
 Education system
 Penalties for the cheaters
Our conclusion is
“yes cheating is out
of control in the
present conditions
but it can be
controlled if the
recommendations are
implemented
otherwise it is totally
out of control”.
