• Hi, my name is Scott Gaunt. I am a junior at the Key
Learning Community and I am in Mr. Crum's Advisory.
The theme for this year is "Nature." The project that I
chose to do my project on is the "Art vs. Artifact
Debate." The reason why I chose this project is because
I want to know more about it.

American history. If we know how to look at them, they
can be sources for better understanding our history.
While textbooks focus on the great documents of the
American past, or the important events, artifacts can
show us another kind of history, another way of
approaching the past. This Web site will tell you how to
look closely at artifacts and how to think about the ways
they shape and reflect our history.

Mrs. Zuckermans Response: I like the Debate and it got the
students motivated.
• What did you think about when the classroom was the
courtroom?
Mrs. Zuckerman's Response: It was very cool.
• Have you ever been a judge before?
Mrs. Zuckerman's Response: I have never been a judge
before.
• Did you want to see a video of the court sometime?
Mrs. Zuckerman's Response: I would like to.

7. WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BEWTWEEN ART AND
ARTIFACT?
The difference between artifacts and art are:
1.Art is the quality, production, expression, or
realm, according to aesthetic principles, of
what is beautiful, appealing, or of more than
ordinary significance.
– Artifact is a handmade object, as a tool, or the
remains of one, as a shard of pottery,
characteristic of an earlier time or cultural
stage, especially such an object that has been
found out about.
