To whom it may concern,
I am writing to you on behalf of Mr. Ryan Thomas, our current 8th grade Science
teacher who has recently applied for a position in your school. Mr. Thomas is an
outstanding teacher who is dedicated to his students and works diligently to enhance their
qualities and learning experiences.
Ryan has a passion for teaching and helping students become their best in the field
of Science. It shows in every lesson he presents. Rarely do I see Ryan sitting at his desk or
not engaging students in the most unique way. He can often be seen standing in the center
of his classroom directing discussion or showing students some prop to help them think
about the learning target for the day.
In addition to his classroom duties, Ryan works with his grade level and subject
team to provide pertinent information about the students and lessons he teaches. This
enables a group of colleagues to determine best practices for the students we serve. His
approach enhances the teaming process and clearly, he helps our campus go above and
beyond to promote student success at every level.
Mr. Thomas has been a teacher on our campus for eight years. While he has
mastered the instruction of many different science classes including Honors and Regular
Science 7 & 8, he also taught successfully in our ESL program in sheltered classrooms as
well as co-teaching in the general population. Because of his experience, I am confident
that Ryan would do well in any classroom he is assigned to teach.
The curricular program and relationships that Mr. Thomas has established here at
Wilson is strong. This is only a product of the invested time and energy put forth in making
learning fun while maintaining a high level of expectation. Thus, his classroom is an
exciting place to be. I strongly recommend him for your campus.
