15. Church of the Poor
A Church that embraces and practices the evangelical
spirit of poverty which combines detachment from
possessions with a profound trust in the Lord as the
only source of salvation
A Church [that] will courageously defend and
vindicate the rights of the poor and the oppressed
even when doing so will mean alienation or
persecution from the rich and powerful
16. Church of the Poor
A Church where nobody is so poor as to have
nothing to give, and nobody so rich as to have
nothing to receive.”
17. Church of the Poor
Indeed, the new leaders are steering the Church back to
Jesus Christ who identified Himself with the poor—
“Truly, I say to you: whenever you did this to one of
the least, of these my brothers, you did it to me…
Truly, I say to you: whatever you did not do for one of
the least of these, you did not do for me” (Mt.
25:40,45).
18. Inspired by the Blessed Trinity
The Trinity refers to the idea that God is one, but
can be experienced in three different Persons. The
word ‘trinity’ comes from the word ‘tri’ meaning
‘three’ and ‘unity’ meaning ‘one’.
Catholics believe that there are three distinct
Persons to this one God and that these three Persons
form a unity.
19. Inspired by the Blessed Trinity
This belief is called the doctrine of the Trinity:
God the Father - the creator and sustainer of all
things
God the Son - the incarnation of God as a human
being, Jesus Christ, on Earth
God theHoly Spirit - the power of God which is
active in the world, drawing people towards God.
20. Holistic Formation of the Person
Holistic development essentially means the
development of intellectual, mental, physical,
emotional, and social abilities in a child so that he or
she is capable of facing the demands and challenges
of everyday life. These abilities are vitally important
for success in professional fields of work.
21. Holistic Formation of the Person
Every child is unique. He or she has her unique
personality traits, interests, preferences, values,
attitudes, strengths, and weaknesses. The educational
curriculum must be able to help every child find his or
her unique place in the world in alignment with the
uniqueness that he or she has.
22. MCC MISSION:
We follow Jesus Christ, the center and life, by
living the Carmelian spirit of prayer, compassion,
and prophetic action as we continually strive for
quality education in the service of the church and
society.
23. Jesus Christ
Scripture teaches that Jesus Christ was conceived
of the Holy Spirit and born of a virgin. He lived a
sinless life. He turned water into wine, healed
many sick, blind, and lame people. He forgave
sins, he multiplied fish and loaves of bread to feed
thousands on more than one occasion,
24. Jesus Christ
He delivered the demon-possessed, he walked on
water, he calmed the stormy sea, he raised
children and adults from death to life. Jesus Christ
proclaimed the Good News of the Kingdom of
God.
25. Carmelian Spirit
Prayer – It is a devout petition to God or an object
of worship. A spiritual communion with God or an
object of worship, as in supplication, thanksgiving,
adoration, or confession. The act or practice of
praying to God or an object of worship. A formula or
sequence of words used in or appointed for praying:
The Lord's Prayer.
26. Carmelian Spirit
Compassion - sympathetic pity and concern for
the sufferings or misfortunes of others.
Prophetic Action - A prophetic act is more than - or
differs from - a spoken word of prophecy, or word of
knowledge. It’s an action, something we DO under
the anointing and unction of the Holy Spirit as a
step of faith, as an act of obedience to release the
power, the presence and the victory of God into a
situation.
