Russell Bawks has been working with Schenker from September 2001 to February 2015,
in the 1st
three years as a consultant then as an employee since 2004. During this time he
served in several roles, primarily in the capacity as Solution Design-Architect, Project
Manager and Product Manager. As the Executive Vice President of Ocean Product,
Americas - I had good oversight of Russ Bawks' contribution to our organization for over
11 years.
Russ was initially responsible for selection of our regional supply chain visibility
application and the implementation of major North American customers. Subsequently
he was heavily involved in the upgrade of this platform to a global basis with enhanced
capabilities.
His project management responsibilities included the definition of the project scope and
deliverables, contract negotiation, leading the planning and implementation of the
project, customer on boarding, and managing project resource allocation. He also
identified opportunities for product innovation and product enhancements, managed
and communicated with cross functional teams, supported sales and marketing with
necessary product knowledge and expertise, and conducted product presentations. On
an ongoing basis he managed product related support, managed the software vendor and
supported feedback and inquiries from users.
He was our initial key liaison for three of our largest North American customers. He
demonstrated a deep understanding of their business, understood their needs which
enabled him to effectively translate this into solutions with a strong understanding of
their technologies.
Russ demonstrated a wide range of skills and abilities in these positions including critical
thinking and problem solving, influencing and leading, adapting and innovating as
needed, with problem analysis and solutions, strategic thinking and a strong customer
orientation.
He demonstrates a strong work and entrepreneurial ethic and is diligent.
It is unfortunate that due to current economic constraints, the company has had a global
restructuring and will lose valued employees such as Russ. Russ would be an asset to any
organization that requires his skill sets.
