This is a letter of reference for Ruben Trevino. Ruben was a consultant engaged through Smith
Consulting Group and worked with Sterling National Bank on a core system conversion, moving from
Jack Henry Silverlake to Fiserv Signature. For the purposes of clarification, Ruben was not a direct
employee of Sterling National Bank.
Ruben was brought in specifically to fill a gap for a senior technical resource to assist the
implementation of several Fiserv products, notably TCRs, DocPlus, Connected Teller and Aperio. His
assistance wasalsoutilizedacrossthe broaderFiservproductsuite including Nautilus and the rollout of
the new single sign-on product, AES. Besides the installation configuration of Fiserv products he also
assistedwiththe build-outof the virtual environments that many of these platforms are hosted on and
deeptroubleshootingoncashrecyclersandvalidatorprinters. We are a highly virtualized environment
and he was able to quickly adapt to our converged infrastructure and assist with templated builds and
configurations. Finally,he wasable tointroduce severalprojectmanagementconceptssuchas agile and
scrum as well as project management tools that helped the IT group more effectively manage the
project across the enterprise.
Ruben’s expertise across the entire Fiserv suite was invaluable and his affable manner and can-do
attitude was infectious to those around him. Ruben’s assistance, especially his project management
skillsanddeepproductknowledge, helped my team move from being significantly behind on many of
the buildsacrossthe entire projecttofinishingover120 serverbuilds across46 differentFiservproducts
ahead of schedule. I cannot overstate that his help directly correlated to enabling us to meet several
aggressive timelines established by the bank and Fiserv.
