2. INTRO
Lately there have been strange weather patterns. The weather
patterns are changing globally with extreme damage. In
America this year came hurricane Isaac, killing thousands.
The weather was changing in 1998 when on one week lots of
natural disasters occurred.
3. NATURAL DISASTERS
Cyclone/Hurricane – massive storms, mainly made of wind.
They form over the ocean.
Wild Fire – uncontrollable fires that are mainly in the bush
Floods – water over flowing on to land, mainly from tsunamis
or too much rain
Landslides/Avalanches – land and mud or snow falling down
hills.
Storms – storms are mainly made up of rain and lightning.
Storms are also cyclones and the lot.
4. HURRICANE ISAAC
Hurricane Isaac – It struck America on the 28th August 2012. The
storm was a category one hurricane, the speed of the
hurricane (going at it’s fastest) was 282km/h. Residents were
saying the levees did more harm than good because they
were crashing into houses. The damage cost 3 billion US
dollars. The hurricane started in the Atlantic.
5. IT’S ALREADY STARTED
On 1998 in one week all this happened:
13 mobile homes were washed away in Mill Creek.
There was a water spout near Ohio. The floods destroyed more
than one thousand homes.
A tornado in Connecticut. Nothing of the type was ever heard of
before.
Earthquakes in Idaho and Wyoming.
Record high temperatures and lightning caused wildfires in
Florida, the worst in fifty years.
It was announced that in 2000 the earth’s ozone layer will be at
it’s thinnest.
This wasn’t even all that happened on that one week.
6. MY INPUT
I have noticed some weird weather happening, especially in
spring. Some days it’s just fine weather, then the next day it’s
all cold and stormy and the day after that it’s boiling hot! Even
one day I came to school and the sky was an extraordinary
purple colour. I definitely think that there’s some weird
weather happening.
