ThinkWork experience is as important
as education when job hunting.
Students don’t understand the
perceived importance of work
experience to employers.
EMPATHY MAP:

Concerned about
economy
SAYI promote resume writing in my classes.
My students have no real work experience.
I suggest various internships to students
It is difficult to get a job in this economy.
Most of my students eventually attend
graduate school.
Students should work between
undergraduate and graduate studies.
I wish I could do more to help
my students.
A caring, informed, highly-educated, vigilent, honors
professor needs to enhance her promotion of non-
academic experiences to students because they do
not understand the value of those experiences for
gainful employment.
PROBLEM STATEMENT:
College is not providing all the experience that
students need to enter the workforce.
Professors are aware of the need to gain non-
academic experience to aid in job attainment.
