Waste Management NZ is New Zealand’s leading provider of waste disposal services.
We collect, transport, treat, recycle, recover and dispose of residential, commercial and
industrial waste.
We are passionate about the safe and responsible management of waste.
The protection of the environment is our priority also the regulatory compliance is taken very
seriously.

As much as we can, sending waste back to work, and if it can’t possibly be recycled, it can still
extract benefit from it through our modern landfill technology. We like to think of it as being
positively resourceful.
We use advanced, sustainable technology to capture 95% of the landfill gas generated from
waste materials, using it to create electricity. We do this at our world-class Redvale energy park
and landfill facility north of Auckland.
We have the resources to take care of the waste people generate in a safe and sustainable
way, so everyone can continue to enjoy this unique NZ environment.
Company Goals
Our long term company’s goals are reduction of the amount of waste in New Zealand as well as
become one important player at the renewable energy market. Also develop internal talents that
will build the Waste Management brand in the industry making this company a source of good
practices for safety, health and compliance attitude.

rewards and recognition from customers and employees also is proud to be well known due its
paramount concern related to clean environment and pleasant outdoor.
Your employment
Your employment with Waste Management is essentially governed by your contract of
employment and Waste Management Policies, in conjunction with this Manual. This section
provides general information about your role.
The Key Functions of your role will add value to our organisation by ideas, innovation and
improvement attitude therefore your suggestions will be more than welcome for the
organisation.
The characteristics you bring to the company will add value to our organisation by commitment
and transparency and under no circumstances never forget the compliance code.

Waste management is governed by the following laws in New Zealand:
 Employment relations Act and
 Employment Relations Act and amendment regarding Trial Periods, effective from
August 2010

Legal Parameters of your Role
The central duty of a new Manager at Waste Management is to act in good faith and in the best
interests of the company and to understand their legally defined duties and responsibilities in
relation to their Role.
At Waste Management each new Manager is required to take responsibility for two New
Zealand laws. Specifically, you will be tasked with ensuring that Health and Safety Laws are
complied with by employees, so that all employees are safe at work, as well as ensuring
employees are aware of the Privacy Principles of this Country.
The safe and healthy workplace is employer and employees responsibility then they must work
in team literally to achieve goals around this matter always must be aware of the employment
relations act 2000 advices towards hazards elimination or minimization.
Your everyday concern must be about employees health and safety which is their right assured
by law otherwise they might getting involved in serious harm what can even result in their death.
Health and Safety
Please note the following considerations that you are responsible for in the legal area of Health
and Safety are toward safe workplace for all collaborators and some more topics listed below.
 Be responsible for providing a safe working environment
 Ensure you are properly trained and supervised so you can work safely
 Identify hazards in the workplace
 Ensure that those hazards are eliminated, isolated and minimized
 Eliminate hazards where possible, depending on how much harm it could cause and
how difficult and expensive it would be. Where a hazard cannot be eliminated you have
the right to know about the hazard and what you need to do (or not do) to work safely

Privacy Principles
Please note the following considerations that you are responsible for in the legal area of Privacy
Principles that set out how agencies may collect, store, use and disclose personal information
(Privacy Commissioner).
The Privacy Act composed of 12 information privacy principles (as showed below) and you must
bear in mind all of them and having any question the legal department is at your disposal to
clarify and help you out.
 Purpose of collection of personal information only if it is really a need
 Source of personal information must be collected from the individual concerned
 Collection of information must be sure the individual is aware of that
 Manner of collection of personal information must not be unlawful
 Storage and security of personal information must be sure there are safeguards against
any fraud
 Access to personal information where it can readily retrieved and reached
 Correction of personal information and once is done the recipients must be informed
 Accuracy of information to be checked before use and not misleading
 Personal information not to be kept for longer than necessary
 Limits on use of personal information must not be used for another purpose
 Limits on disclosure of personal information unless under reasonable believe
 Unique identifiers must not be assigned to individuals

Ethical Parameters of Waste Management
This organisation has created a comprehensive internal policy around ethics and your role as a
new Manager is to be responsible for this area for all employees:
Code of Ethical Conduct
Our Code of Ethical Conduct applies to all employees for conducting business, dealing with
other employees, Clients and suppliers. The Code of Ethical Conduct does not replace
legislation and if any part of it is in conflict, then legislation takes precedence. This Code is
based on the following:
 Behaviour towards other employees:
 Accepting money as gifts:
 Professionalism:
 Company Property:
 Other Cultures:
 The interests of the Business:
 Performing Duties:
 Email Use:
 Private use of Social Media sites:
This policy will be regularly reviewed by Waste Management and any necessary changes will be
implemented by you.
That is the guide of Waste Management principles and was made to benefit employees to
conduct and behave honestly and with integrity. Use it to approach certain problems as it has
been created on the Waste Management core value and the standards to which the staff
member will be held.
Your commitment is follow it very strictly because breaking the code of ethical conduct can
result in termination or dismissal from Waste Management so it is important be guided by these
principles as it provides a preventive warning.

To be a successful Project Manager at Waste Management you will:
Be adept at managing and overseeing the delivery of multiple projects running
simultaneously from pre-construction trough to final handover.
Have a minimum of 5 years fit out and in project management with experience across
either or a combination of the construction, healthcare, hotel and maintenance sectors.
Be capable of and responsible for managing from NZD 200,000 to NZD 1M+ in value
Be a positive leader who can inspire team members and clients alike, is customer
focused with a commitment to delivering fantastic outcomes and growing our brand
reputation even further.
Have an excellent attention to detail, including plans, various documentation as well as
strong written and presentation skills with proficiency with technology.
Build positive trusted relationships with customers, suppliers, subcontractors,
colleagues and leadership.
Have the ability to foresee roadblocks, successfully troubleshoot and manage issues as
they arise. You are someone who takes and entrepreneurial and collaborative approach
to providing solutions that deliver amazing results for customers and four our business.
Continually demonstrate solid stakeholder management skills ranging from our internal
team members, leadership, partner brands, trades, project site teams and the customer.
Be open to mentoring, learning and ongoing personal and professional development.
Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
Planning, programming, executing, monitoring and closing projects.
Managing the delivery of all points of waste management industry.
Working closely and or leading other project managers, project coordinators, site
managers and other team for best possible outcomes.
Liaise with all relevant parties such as designers and subcontractors in a positive and
professional way
Managing OH&S responsibilities for the project.
Managing & report on all project financials weekly.
Delivering your project to the highest standard of satisfaction and quality on time/budget

We collect, transport, treat, recycle, recover and dispose of residential, commercial and industrial waste. We are passionate about the safe and responsible management of waste. So New Zealanders can live in a safe, unspoiled environment, we recycle As much as we can, sending waste back to work, and if it can’t possibly be recycled, it can still extract benefit from it through our modern landfill technology. We like to think of it as being positively resourceful. We use advanced, sustainable technology to capture 95% of the landfill gas generated from waste materials, using it to create electricity. We do this at our world-class Redvale energy park and landfill facility north of Auckland. We have the resources to take care of the waste people generate in a safe and sustainable way, so everyone can continue to enjoy this unique NZ environment.

Legal Parameters of your Role The central duty of a new Manager at Waste Management is to act in good faith and in the best interests of the company and to understand their legally defined duties and responsibilities in relation to their Role. At Waste Management each new Manager is required to take responsibility for two New Zealand laws. Specifically, you will be tasked with ensuring that Health and Safety Laws are complied with by employees, so that all employees are safe at work, as well as ensuring employees are aware of the Privacy Principles of this Country. The safe and healthy workplace is employer and employees responsibility then they must work in team literally to achieve goals around this matter always must be aware of the employment relations act 2000 advices towards hazards elimination or minimization. Your everyday concern must be about employees health and safety which is their right assured by law otherwise they might getting involved in serious harm what can even result in their death. Health and Safety Please note the following considerations that you are responsible for in the legal area of Health and Safety are toward safe workplace for all collaborators and some more topics listed below.  Be responsible for providing a safe working environment  Ensure you are properly trained and supervised so you can work safely  Identify hazards in the workplace  Ensure that those hazards are eliminated, isolated and minimized  Eliminate hazards where possible, depending on how much harm it could cause and how difficult and expensive it would be. Privacy Principles Please note the following considerations that you are responsible for in the legal area of Privacy Principles that set out how agencies may collect, store, use and disclose personal information (Privacy Commissioner). The Privacy Act composed of 12 information privacy principles (as showed below) and you must bear in mind all of them and having any question the legal department is at your disposal to clarify and help you out.  Purpose of collection of personal information only if it is really a need  Source of personal information must be collected from the individual concerned  Collection of information must be sure the individual is aware of that  Manner of collection of personal information must not be unlawful  Storage and security of personal information must be sure there are safeguards against any fraud  Access to personal information where it can readily retrieved and reached  Correction of personal information and once is done the recipients must be informed  Accuracy of information to be checked before use and not misleading  Personal information not to be kept for longer than necessary  Limits on use of personal information must not be used for another purpose  Limits on disclosure of personal information unless under reasonable believe  Unique identifiers must not be assigned to individuals Source: Privacy Commissioner

Ethical Parameters of Waste Management This organisation has created a comprehensive internal policy around ethics and your role as a new Manager is to be responsible for this area for all employees: Code of Ethical Conduct Our Code of Ethical Conduct applies to all employees for conducting business, dealing with other employees, Clients and suppliers. The Code of Ethical Conduct does not replace legislation and if any part of it is in conflict, then legislation takes precedence. This Code is based on the following:  Behaviour towards other employees:  Accepting money as gifts:  Professionalism:  Company Property:  Other Cultures:  The interests of the Business:  Performing Duties:  Email Use:  Private use of Social Media sites: This policy will be regularly reviewed by Waste Management and any necessary changes will be implemented by you. That is the guide of Waste Management principles and was made to benefit employees to conduct and behave honestly and with integrity. Use it to approach certain problems as it has been created on the Waste Management core value and the standards to which the staff member will be held. Your commitment is follow it very strictly because breaking the code of ethical conduct can result in termination or dismissal from Waste Management so it is important be guided by these principles as it provides a preventive warning.

To be a successful Project Manager at Waste Management you will: Be adept at managing and overseeing the delivery of multiple projects running simultaneously from pre-construction trough to final handover. Have a minimum of 5 years fit out and in project management with experience across either or a combination of the construction, healthcare, hotel and maintenance sectors. Be capable of and responsible for managing from NZD 200,000 to NZD 1M+ in value Be a positive leader who can inspire team members and clients alike, is customer focused with a commitment to delivering fantastic outcomes and growing our brand reputation even further. Have an excellent attention to detail, including plans, various documentation as well as strong written and presentation skills with proficiency with technology. Build positive trusted relationships with customers, suppliers, subcontractors, colleagues and leadership. Have the ability to foresee roadblocks, successfully troubleshoot and manage issues as they arise. You are someone who takes and entrepreneurial and collaborative approach to providing solutions that deliver amazing results for customers and four our business.
