Statement of Health, Safety and Welfare Policy
Our work is in potentially high-risk sectors of Asbestos removal, surveys and encapsulation. Health and safety is
extremely important within our business, and we fully accept our responsibilities to our staff, sub contractors and other
people.
We will endeavour to ensure that, so far as is reasonable practicable, our operations are conducted in such a manner as
to prevent harm or injury to people or damage to their working environment.
The company will take every reasonable measure, including the provision of adequate resources, to discharge its
responsibilities by:
 Provide and maintain a clean, healthy and safe working environment so far as is reasonably practicable.
 Make it a prime responsibility of management to ensure that the health and safety policies are fully implemented
as an integral part of the management of Hampshire Environmental Services Ltd.
 Consult with employees regularly to ensure the effectiveness of this policy, and to offer opportunity for their view
on any changes required.
 Expect employees and contractors to co-operate in carrying out this policy, and to ensure that in their own work so
far as is reasonably practicable they do not create risk to themselves or others.
 Provide appropriate training and supervision.
 Provide and maintain the appropriate equipment for the work to be carried out.
 Provide personal protective equipment.
 Carry out Occupational Health Screening checks for operatives exposed to health hazards.
 Regularly review and improve this policy in the light of changing standards, and information gathered from
monitoring performance.
 Ensuring adequate welfare facilities are available.
 Obtaining the services of an external health and safety consultant to provide competent advice, support and to
monitor performance against this policy.
We expect employees and contractors to comply with their legal duties and work with us to ensure that our workplaces
are safe and healthy for everyone.
We have appointed Kevin Bell and David Carter as having particular responsibility for health, safety and welfare for the
company and to whom reference should be made in the event of difficulty in implementing this policy

Environmental Policy Statement
Hampshire Environmental Services are fully committed to achieving the highest standards with regards to
environmental matters arising out of our activities. It is the intention of the organization to be at the forefront of our
industry through a policy of continual improvement. An integral element of our sensitivity to environmental issues is
that it may affect not only our employees but also our other stakeholders.
When determining priorities for the allocation of resources, environmental objectives shall be given equal consideration
with all other organisation objectives.
All managers, supervisors and employees have duties and responsibilities under this policy, and in order to ensure these
are met at regular reviews of environmental performance will he carried out.
Aims of the Policy
Hampshire Environmental Services recognises that protection of the environment requires all activity to be conducted
in a sustainable manner. Hampshire Environmental Services are fully committed to best environmental practice and
each department takes responsibility for its own environmental performance.
Hampshire Environmental Services has acknowledged these responsibilities by publishing this environmental policy. Our
organisation is committed to implementing the actions stated in the policy and objectives. In order to achieve this our
organisation is;
1. Establishing health, safety and environmental policies for which the Top Management has ultimate responsibility
and which forms part of the organisation’s business plans.
2. Developing a comprehensive Environmental Management System (EMS), which ensures
compliance with all relevant environmental legislation, regulations, codes of practice and any other standard to
which the company subscribes? The organisation is also committed to the prevention of pollution. The EMS will
evaluate the organisation’s environmental impacts resulting in the setting of clear objectives with the aim of
establishing continual environmental improvement in environmental performance. The organisation’s overall
performance will be monitored by regular audits and annual reviews.
3. Intent on integrating environmental management with health and safety management at all areas of activity.
Policy Objectives
The EMS will develop over time so that all key issues pertinent to the organisation will be addressed. Initially, the EMS
will pay close attention to the following policy objectives;
1. Minimise the environmental impacts of our existing processes/activities and ensure that the implications of new
processes are fully assessed prior to their introduction.
2. Effectively manage and control our authorised processes
3. Dispose of waste and effluents in a responsible and safe manner
4. Reduce the likelihood of environmental accidents and incidents through the use of risk assessments and action
planning
5. Promote ownership and control of environmental issues at business level
6. Provide the necessary training and support in order to ensure that the organisation can fulfil the requirements
outlined in this policy
7. Introduce programmes that aim to minimise waste
8. Minimise energy use through effective energy management..

Quality Policy
The continuing policy of Hampshire Environmental Services is to provide a professional and efficient service to meet all
of the agreed requirements of our customers. This achievement will result in securing efficiency and the enhancement
of long-term profitability.
The Management Team bears the responsibility for establishing, maintaining and implementing the system for
controlling those particular activities for which they are responsible. We undertake to ensure through instruction,
practical example and training that quality is the aim of all members of the Organisation and that each employee has a
proper understanding of the importance of the quality system function and its direct relevance to the success of the
Organisation.
Equally every employee is responsible for, and will be trained to perform the duties required by his or her specific role.
Further the Organisation will ensure that any sub-contractors employed for a particular function will meet specified
requirements and will accept the responsibility for their work.
The Organisation has a policy of continual improvement in line with the conditions laid down in ISO 9001:2008.
We hereby certify that this Quality Manual and the Standard Operating Procedures Manual accurately describes the
Quality System in use within the Organisation to meet the requirements of ISO 9001:2008.
The Quality System will be monitored regularly under the Top Management’s ultimate responsibility with regular
reporting of the status and effectiveness at all levels.

Health and safety is extremely important within our business, and we fully accept our responsibilities to our staff, sub contractors and other people. We will endeavour to ensure that, so far as is reasonable practicable, our operations are conducted in such a manner as to prevent harm or injury to people or damage to their working environment.
