which blood, taken from the patient,
is inoculated into bottles containing
culture media to determine whether
infection-causing microorganisms
(bacteria or fungi) are present in the
patient’s bloodstream.

bottle holder, controller, computer, touch screen and the casing.

The bottom of the blood culture
bottle contains the color sensor,
which has a semi-permeable silicone
membrane to isolate the medium and
color sensor, and only CO2 can
penetrate through the silicone
membrane.
