Earth is made up of land, water, and air,
where the land part is composed mainly of
soil, rocks, and underground deposits of coal
minerals, and other fuels. Earth is also rich in
natural resources that provide the basic needs
of people and promote economic progress.

The Philippines has a bountiful source of natural
resources in fields such as agriculture, fisheries,
medicinal and cosmetic natural products, as well
as minerals. It has fertile lands, different flora
and fauna variety, far-reaching coastlines, and
loaded with mineral deposits.
14. There is diversity in vegetation, fruit-
bearing trees, fish species, and other
seafoods. This is one reason why the
Philippines is known as the “Pearl of the
Orient Seas”. Filipinos living in rural areas
depend mostly on natural resources.
