SKILLS
3. Leadership- From leading a group of GCSE students, I was able to balance the leadership role with the need to gain their trust
and build rapport. During university group presentations, I often ensured that each person made a contribution by leading
discussions and providing ideas of my own, which benefited the overall outcome of the task.
Communication- Practical use of Spanish during year abroad by conversing with Spaniards, and during my Leonardo Da Vinci
internship when working with Spanish children. As a volunteer teaching assistant, I helped students improve their English,
including supporting a Kurdish refugee with his IELTS examinations.
Teamwork- Working in retail I have become a valued and flexible team member, taking on extra and split shifts when required. I
take part in various sports including football, karate and kickboxing. I have sometimes been given extra responsibilities such as
team captain or coaching assistant and I have always risen to the challenge. These experiences have shown me to be an
enthusiastic and eager team member who works well with others.
Planning & Organising- At Aimhigher I planned lessons to meet timescales, allowing time for reflection and target setting at
the end of each session. I also had to plan sessions with my Kurdish student to ensure we covered the vital topics in preparation
for his IELTS exam. Organising activities for children during my internship in Seville has further improved my skills.
Languages- English native speaker, Spanish Fluent, High level of French, Conversational German and Italian.
I.T- Good working knowledge of Microsoft office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, PDF) and Internet Browsers.
