Collective Bargaining

The phrase collective bargaining is said to be
coined by Beatrice Webb.
It is made up from two words
• Collective means “group”
• Bargaining means “proposals” & counter proposals
“collective bargaining is an agreement
between a single employers or an
association of employers
On the one hand and a labor union on
the other hand ,which regulates the term
and conditions or employment.”
- TUDWIG TELLER
The right of labor union
to collectively bargain is
guaranteed by the
National labor relations
act of 1935.
Known as The Wager act
Note
Independent
contractors and
government
employees are
not entitled to
this process.
COMPOSITION OF A NEGOTIATON TEAM
Both party meet to set ground rules for the collective
Bargaining negotiation processes.
Both Representatives make opening statements
Following proposals and parties discuss potential points
