1. Tutorial RCBD.
A researcher carried out a randomized complete block experiment to compare the effects of three levels
of lighting on the number of eggs laid by a pen of four young hens over a period of 80 days. The
treatments were:
0=Control treatment (use natural daylight only)
E=Extended day light treatment (total day length of 14 hours)
F=Flash light treatment (natural day+2 times 20 second flashes per night)
The recorded data are shown below:

a) Does the data provide sufficient evidence to indicate a difference in number of eggs laid for the
three levels of lightning? Do an appropriate test using α=0.05.
b) Use the LSD test with α=0.05 to make comparisons between pairs of lightning mean.
