Reference: Rina du Preez
This reference is provided for Rina du Preez in my capacity as Chief Executive Officer of Jacques Malan Consultants
and Actuaries (JMCA) for the three year period prior to its merger with NMG Benefits in January 2013.
Rina joined JMCA as our Marketing and Communications Specialist on 1st
October 2006. The company employed
approximately 120 members of staff located across 5 offices in Cape Town, Gauteng, KZN, Port Elizabeth and
Windhoek. Her duties consisted primarily of the following:
- Compilation and circulation of group related communications to all staff.
- Extensive proof reading and editing function for all business units.
- Sourcing and editing of articles for quarterly client newsletter and circulation to all clients.
- Sourcing and editing of articles for bi-monthly staff newsletter and circulation to all staff.
- Sourcing of information from business heads and preparation of information session presentations to all staff on
a bi-monthly basis.
- Continual updating of website.
- Obtaining sales data from all consultants and generating Sales Reports to Exco on a monthly basis
- Member of Marketing Committee.
- Facilitation of all staff and client related events.
- Updating of Company Profile and New Business Presentation on a quarterly basis.
- Facilitation, compilation and submission of all tenders Group wide.
- Facilitation of social investment donations on an annual basis and monitoring of budget.
- Maintenance and updating of all company templates and Style Guide.
Rina performed all of the above duties meticulously and thoroughly. She functions well under pressure and never
failed to meet a deadline, particularly as far as tenders were concerned. Myself and our senior management team
found Rina to be extremely capable and her particular strengths as a writer, communicator and organiser were held
in high regard by all.
On a personal note, Rina relates very well to others and was able to maintain good relations with her colleagues and
external parties. She is loyal, dependable, extremely honest and has a great sense of humour.
Rina was due to be promoted to Group Marketing Manager in November 2012; however, as the merger with NMG
took place at the same time, this promotion did not materialise and the decision was unfortunately subsequently
taken to retrench her as NMG’s Marketing Department is located at head office in Randburg. Rina leaves our
employ on 31st
August. We are very sorry to lose her and would recommend her as an asset to any organisation.
