Re: Letter of Recommendation for Karine Hollanders
Dear Sir or Madam,
As the charitable arm of the YMCA of Brisbane, Y-Care has benefited considerably from the
innovation, creativity and commitment demonstrated by Karine Hollanders during her
internship between June and July 2015. Working alongside senior staff members, Karine's
primary task was to develop strategies to improve the organisation's processes for
communicating and recognising team members. This was considered to be an important
task for improving staff engagement. lt is with great pleasure that I am able to inform you
that Karine excelled in this task and in doing so; she saved our organisation a considerable
amount of money in consultancy fees. As such, I wish to reflect on her character strengths
which I believe assisted her to complete this task.
As an outsider to the YMCA, Karine went to great lengths to ensure she had a
comprehensive understanding about how the organisation operated. During initial planning
stages of the project she meticulously reviewed the roles and practices of staff. She
researched effective strategies used by successful organisations and learned how these
could apply to our organisation. Her level of commitment and efforts to be thorough are
commendable.
Karine's communication and interpersonal skills are also noteworthy. During meetings and
presentations she conscientiously listened to the ideas of others and shared her own views
with the team when appropriate. Her humility was genuine and she ensured that the efforts
of staff members were acknowledged. On numerous occasions others informed me that
Karine was approachable, respectful and enjoyable to work with.
Finally, Karine demonstrated a high degree of professionalism in all avenues of her work.
Her organisation and punctuality at meetings and responding to requests was exceptional.
She went to great lengths to ensure work was completed thoroughly but also efficiently. Her
reporting and presentation skills were first-rate even surpassing the expectations of many
senior managers.
Karine has made an invaluable contribution to our organisation's staff culture. I strongly
recommend that she be appointed to the current position as I have no doubt that her intellect
