What is an interview
1. WHAT IS AN INTERVIEW?
• It has originated from a French word ‘entrevue’ meaning to see one
another and to know the inner self of the other person.
• An interview is a meeting between an applicant for employment and
a company representative to determine if the candidate is qualified
for a job.
• . According to human resource management an interview is A
somewhat formal discussion between a hirer and an applicant or
candidate, typically in person in which information is exchanged, with
the intention of establishing the applicant’s suitability for a position.

3. DO’S DURING AN INTERVIEW
• Dress to impress.
• Do wait until you are offered a chair before sitting.
• Arrive early 10 minutes prior to the interview start time.
• When you shake hands with the interviewer, make sure your handshake is
firm. Giving a firm handshake will convey a message of confidence,
discipline, and determination.
• Do show enthusiasm in the position and the company
• Maintain good eye contact during the interview.
• Sit upright in the seat. Rest your hands in your lap, avoid waving them
around when you talk.
• Do stress your achievements .

• Don’t ever lie. Answer questions truthfully, frankly and succinctly,

until after you’ve received an offer.
• Don’t bring up or discuss personal issues or family problems.
• Don't act as though you would take any job or are desperate for employment.

• Don't chew gum or smell like smoke.
• Don't allow your cell phone to sound during the interview.
• Don't make excuses. Take responsibility for your decisions and your actions.
• Don't be unprepared for typical interview questions.
5. MANTRA FOR CRACKING INTERVIEW
• Your Bio Data should be in detail and look professional.

data)
• Be confident & calm.
• Always try to give crisp & to the point answer but with confidence .
• When you enter the interview room just think you are “The Best”.
• Be polite and don’t try to argue on things . Always remember your
GD rules.
