1. Mise-En-scene
In the first 3 seconds she is shown with a birthday cake with lit candles this a prop to show how she is a normal everyday
girl that we should be able to relate to, she is happy as we can see the joy in her face. However the end prop is a smaller
cake with one candle instead of 9 this could mean there is only one person left in her life. On Halloween the scene starts
to change for the worst. The lighting changes, this is called low-key lighting. You can tell its night time also the props
used is a frog mask which she is wearing for Halloween and you can see pumpkins in the background, this means
something bad is about to happen. After the Halloween scene on the TV in the background bad news is heard and seen
this prop foreshadows something bad is about to happen. Later on one scene her dad is seen packing food in the
background which means she's moving somewhere and she looks sad about it so this could suggest its not a good move.
Medicine is being given to her but there is hardly any left this means that she is sick and also they are poor because they
ran out. They try to use the tap for water but nothing comes out this means the water has ran out so they are official poor
because water isn’t a problem for 1st world country's unless your really poor. Her mum gives her the last of the water and
its not even a lot. She eats a rotten apple, this is ironic because around the start of the advert she was eating chocolate
and now she is eating a rotten apple this shows how thing have changed.

2. Camera
The camera angle throughout was a close up, this is so we see her facial expressions
throughout the video. The camera was static on a tripod however when the
dangerous scenes come up like when the school blew up or there was shooting next
to her and she was running the camera change to hand held. This is to make it more
believable and dramatic because it feels like we can feel her running. There is a
shallow focus (Depth of field) on the girl.

3. Editing
In the editing the main technique use is cuts and splits. The first scene is 3 seconds
long and then the cutting speed changes to 1 second. This is a very fast cutting rate.
They use jump cuts to get from one scene to another and change location, time etc.
There is an explosion so they must of used special effects for that. At the end a
animated logo comes fades in with the slogan and message. This makes you feel
guilty because with the fade it gives you time to read it slowly. The cutting speed is to
show everything in her life at the start quickly and to show how it all can change
quickly.

4. Sound
The song was diegetic throughout. Post synchronised sounds were in it like
the explosion, the tv in the background or the sparklers. This is done so you
can hear the sound clearer. Diegetic is the sound in the world of film and non
diegetic is film out side the world of film. This means the characters can hear
diegetic but if its non diegetic its edited in after.
