Richard Callander
SENIOR BUYER
Contact: Mobile Number 07920187299.
Summary of Competencies
Richard is an experienced professional CIPS qualified buyer who has
worked in different industries, dealing with various contracts, raw
materials, product components and services. His experience in
procurement and contract management means that he is able to obtain
the best negotiated package to the benefit of the business.
Real success in obtaining substantial cost savings are even more
valuable as he has, at the same time, built up lasting relationships with
quality suppliers enabling the most favourable practices to be maintained.
Always ready to accept a challenge, Richard welcomes the opportunity to
set up and/or be involved in a professional buying operation in a growing
organisation and lead or be part of an existing team where success
depends on implementing change.
Richard has developed methods to obtain immediate results as well as
considering the long term plans for the future. These methods have been
successful in the traditional areas of reducing supplier prices, resourcing
and rationalisation although not at the expense of quality. He considers
that clear communicating skills are vital, using persuasion rather than
coercion to liaise with and involve other departments. He views
purchasing as an essential and integral part of the company
management structure, not as a separate entity. Richard has had some
formal computer training and found that its introduction is helpful in
bringing management functions together in a positive way.

  • 1. Curriculum Vitae 1 Richard Callander SENIOR BUYER Contact: Mobile Number 07920187299. Summary of Competencies Richard is an experienced professional CIPS qualified buyer who has worked in different industries, dealing with various contracts, raw materials, product components and services. His experience in procurement and contract management means that he is able to obtain the best negotiated package to the benefit of the business. Real success in obtaining substantial cost savings are even more valuable as he has, at the same time, built up lasting relationships with quality suppliers enabling the most favourable practices to be maintained. Always ready to accept a challenge, Richard welcomes the opportunity to set up and/or be involved in a professional buying operation in a growing organisation and lead or be part of an existing team where success depends on implementing change.
