and the Middle Years Programme. IB World schools share a common philosophy—a commitment to high quality, challenging,
international education that South Iredell believes is important for our students.
Instructional Format: The class is structure to go from guided practice to group learning ending in independent
assessment. Class will start with a review quiz on material that was covered in the
previous lesson. Following the quiz there will be an interactive lecture. During lecture the
teacher will provide working examples and questions to identify student comprehension.
At the completion of lecture students will group together to complete a task that will vary
from book, internet, or lab activities. Students will independently create a model or lab to
demonstrate their understanding along with an independent assessment.
Academic Honesty: Academic honesty provides a way for students to exhibit transparency in their knowing,
understanding and thinking. Supporting students in demonstrating academic honesty
through direct instruction for meeting academic honesty requirements assists in instilling
principled and ethical behaviors. Academic misconduct is described as a behavior,
whether deliberate or inadvertent, that results in the student, or any other student, gaining
