A squatis a strengthexercise inwhichthe
trainee lowerstheirhipsfromastandingposition
and thenstandsback up.
1. Start by standingstraight,withyourfeet
slightlywiderthanshoulder-widthapart,
and yourarms at your sides.
2. Brace yourcore and, keepingyourchest
and chinup,push yourhipsback and
bendyourkneesasif you’re goingtositin
a chair.
3. Ensuringyourkneesdon’tbow inwardor
outward,dropdownuntil yourthighsare
parallel tothe ground,bringingyourarms
out infrontof youin a comfortable
position.Pause forone second,then
extendyourlegsandreturnto the
“Yes,Teacher!”
startingposition.
JUMPING JACKS
A jumpingjack,alsoknownasa star jumpand
calleda side-straddlehopinthe US military,isa
physical jumpingexercise performedbyjumping
to a positionwiththe legsspreadwide andthe
handsgoingoverhead,sometimesinaclap, and
thenreturningtoa positionwiththe feet
togetherandthe arms at the sides.
1. Standuprightwithyourlegstogether,
arms at your sides.
2. Bendyour kneesslightly,and jumpinto
the air.
3. As youjump,spreadyourlegsto be
aboutshoulder-widthapart.Stretchyour
arms out andoveryour head.
4. Jumpback to startingposition.
5. Repeat.
