PROCEDURE:
• Prepare a solution of ammonium salt.
• Take 5ml of Nessler’s reagent in a test tube.
• Add salt solution to it.

10. OBSERVATION:
A brownish orange precipitate is formed.
Salts like NH4Cl, NH4NO3, (NH4)2SO4 can be identified by
this test. This can be used as a test for identifying ammonium
salts.
