“CARSS GARDEN”
TEMPORARY SHELTER CHALLENGE
About the Project
We needed to create a shelter in 2hours during class
on ArchiCAD to demonstrate our design skills and
knowledge in ArchiCAD. We had to design the shelter
by using the tools creatively and produce floor plans,
details, 3D document and section.
Design Concept
For this shelter challenge i chose to create an outdoor
garden with the concept of living space within the
house.
The semi- covered living space acts as an interactive
and refreshment area of the house. Great outdoor
space which can be used for entertainment,
relaxation, reading purposes.
Such outdoor garden could be possible in either at
the frontyard or backyard of the house.
Intergenerational House “Canterbury”
					About the Project
This breif was based on actual client who lives in Canterbury NSW. The client lives in an existing Californian Bunglow and needs more space for the family. This brief was to design a new extension
to the house which adds great value to their lifestyle through access
to views, light and well designed spaces. Flexible interior space
where their extended family could gather and stay during holidays and
eventually reside in permanently if they choose. The designseeks to
meet each of their individual needs while maintaining the intimacy if
their relationships for:
2 Adults both working ; 2Children both attending high school ;
2 Grandparents retired but running a small business.
Design Concept
This design focuses on providing the client with the access of views, light
and well designed spaces. The existing building is connected through the
glass block creating seconary access to the new extension.
Open living Kitchen area has been highlighted in the design by creating
an indoor outdoor space through the use of large glass door/window.
Glass openings has been
designed on North East side
from where the client have
beautiful view of the park as
well as sunlight access during
the day.
The irregular living room on
the North East side acts as a
sunroon during the day. Also
the roof of the extension has
been designed as a skylight,
which provide proper access
of the sunlight.

were to be choosen by ourself.
We had six months time period to complete the project from
the inital phase to the final completeion phase, including all
the planning, elevations, sections, 3D and model of the
project.
DESIGN CONCEPT
The design was inspired from the shape of the ramp which is always
used in the ramp.
