2. In the process of creating my final product I had to go through a variety of steps to end up
with what satisfied such as researching different magazines and viewing what certain aspects
make them look professional and presentable to their target audience. I looked at colour
schemes and what they represented, I looked at all the contents that would belong to each
page that I hade created. I also looked for specific fonts that would make my magazine cover
and other pages look to a professional standard. I had to analyse different magazine
covers, contents pages and double page spreads so that I would be familiar in what
conventions are necessary and what they portray to the audience as well as what effect they
may have due to the certain decisions made in each aspect of the page. I had to make a
questionnaire to my target audience age range to ask what type of things they would like to
see in the magazine and to find out their views on the decisions that I could be possibly
making for my final product.
3. During this experience in making my final product I had to use an SLR camera to have
better quality of the images I wanted to use for my magazine, I had to make sure that it
was of a good quality to make the standard of my magazine much better than the what I
had started with. I had already planned the scene and setting of how I wanted to take my
images and how I wanted the models to pose for it and with the Canon SLR camera that I
used. The most effective parts of using the SLR cameras was being able to play around
with the focus and the good quality of the flash. With natural lighting I had noticed that
the camera was able to perform very well and work with the image to make it to the
standard that I was looking for.
4. Throughout the production of my magazine used a minimum amount of websites to make
changes and edit my photo's since I had some problems trying to use them. I found myself using
the photo editing apps on my iPhone which has been very useful and give my images a
professional and presentable look. I found that this was the easiest way to edit my images and the
most effective because it gave me exactly what I wanted and the effect that I was looking for. This
app is the well known app that is associated with ‘Instagram’ the popular social media that people
use to share photos all around the world and this app is called instacollage. I tried to use
Photoshop in the beginning but I found that I didn’t really need it because the images where
already in the way that I had desired.
5. When going through the process of making my magazine, my planning an evaluation it
consisted of a variety of online forums such as: Prezi, Slideshare, Youtube, Powtoon and
wikispaces. I have used these to present different sections of my work and how I planned
it. I found it easier to present and more creative as I could use images and interesting
slides to make my work seem more appealing to someone who would be reading it instead
of using PowerPoint to present everything that I have done which would be boring.
