BRACKET KIT
• Use the E317 Kit to support subfloor sections between and flush to the top of engineered
wood floor joists.
• Anideal solution for installing the INNI drain is with a pre-fabricated single slope floor
panel.

3. HOW TO : USE THE E317
RFP BRACKET KIT

4. FIRST– Remove the
subfloor from the area
being lowered.
SECOND – Pre-drill
holes aroundedges.

17. Make bottom surfaces flat, smooth, and dust
free. Remove or cut off any nails, staples or
screws that extend below subfloor within 3” of
opening.

22. If your job has a narrow edge gap, consider
these options :
 If G is…
 Less than ½” leave as is.
 Between ½” & 1 ½” use a fill piece thinner than
standard ¾” subfloor as available. No adhesive
needed for this small fill.
 Wider than 1 ½” but less than 4” use a standard
subfloor panel. Underlap adhesive bond but no
brackets.
 4” and wider use a standard subfloor material
“Underlap Bond” floor and use brackets.

25. In the following example, G is more
than 1 ½” but less than 4”.

47. Use staples, screws or nails to secure the
plate to the joist web.

52. Layout and mark
bracket positions.

83. Cut a gage block fromsubfloor material.

87. Brackets are attached to joists, back to
back, as shown next.

94. 2 Temporary HIP (hold in place) screws
are used to hold the first bracket in
position.

101. 6 BTB (bracket to bracket) Screws are used to sandwich
bracket pairs with the joist webbetween.

115. Cut panels 1/8” narrower than the space
between joists.
• UNDERLAP EDGES MINIMUMOF 3”

149. Install ¼” thick tile backer board.

153. Floor lowering is complete.
• Ready for installation of drain and tile-able surface.
