Education.
2. I am a student in my
senior year at ‘N.
Iorga’ Pedagogical
Highschool in
Botosani, Romania.
Basically, for the last
years in my life I was
trained by the best to
be a successful
teacher.
Today I will present
case of my mother’s
class (she is also a
teacher) which has 2
children with
desabilities.
3. The class is
composed of:
-13 healthy girls
-13 healthy boys
-1 boy with autism
-1 boy with dyslexia.
According to
European norms, in
Romania the social
inclusion is
promoted, fact that
gives every child the
chance to develop
normally, because
WE ARE ALL EQUAL!
4. As we could see in
the video, the
teacher asked all
boys to go to the
blackboard and
write the words:
‘Snail’ , ‘Crab’ and
‘Shell’.
The only boy that
did not do the task
was the one with
autism, who told the
teacher that he did
not want to do that.
But did we let him
down?
5. Of course not!
When the teacher saw
that the boy did not
want to go to the
blackboard and write
those 3 words, she
handed me a puzzle
with letters and told me
to help him write them.
Said and done! He liked
the puzzle pieces and
wrote the words he
wanted to.
6. Was he excluded?
Not at all !
Here is a picture with his desk mate helping him
to write the words correctly.
8. In this picture
we can see
how the
dyslexic child
wrote the
letter ‘S’ in
mirror and
had mistaken
the letter ‘C’
with the letter
‘G’
9. As we could see, the
child with autism
finally accepted to go
to the blackboard.
But how do we
explain the fact that
he started to write the
word ‘snail’ instead of
the figure ‘2’ ?
There are many
options for an answer.
First of all, his best
friend is a snail and
my mother told me
that every day he
focuses on that.
Secondly, he was
trying to copy the
papers that were next
to him.
10. When it comes to play
some games, every
child in the world is
happy, regardless of
them health.
Here we can see the
child with autism
participating in the
dance and having fun
with his fellows.
You might think that
the teacher
encouraged him to
dance, but as soon as
the music started, he
standed up and went
dancing!
