1. Part 2
At the end of their grade 7th year, they held a farewell
party, which saw the senior learners come together
for the last time with their respective teachers and the
school staff. That was also the day that Maria has
gotten her first kiss from a young boy that had been
admiring her for a long time. Nangula did not yet get
the first kiss from a boy in her life, as she was not
much into those stuffs at the time. After the grade 7
farewell party, it was time to head for the
examinations. It came and Nangula together with her
friend nailed it to its knees. They made it through to
secondary school. As this girls where village girls,
their parents where not yet ready to send them to the
urban area, so they were just enrolled to a nearby
combined school not far from their village. Both
Nangula and Maria where just 14 years old at that
stage in grade eight. They were still small girls to
know much about life. They started their first year In
grade 8 and everything seemed to be good. Being
new at the school was never easy, as they did not
know the school well, like knowing where the toilets
are and stuff. On the side, coming to a school for the
first time is never easy as bullies mostly time the
2. grade 8 newcomers. The first days of school, Nangula
and Maria suffered from bullies as their lunch boxes
where always taken off from them. However, they
slowly started coping and getting used to it. Because
they were girls, being bullied was not a big big issue
unlike for the boys that heavily suffered from the big
guns.
As days went by the girls got used to the system and
all has been going well on track. Nangula and Maria
had also been learning new stuffs from others within
their school area and the environment they were into.
As they walked from home every day, the two girls
(Nangula and Maria ) had big dreams or changing the
lives of the people within their village and the poor
kids that didn't have the privilege of going to school.
As they always went to school, they always had their
oshikundu bottles with lunch boxes filled with
homemade bread. Throughout their grade 8th year,
they met many people from different backgrounds
and they have to interact. The grade 8th year
happened and again, they smashed it and it was time
to get to grade nine. The grade 8 year passed and it
was yet another year.
They started the year on a good note and the two girls
seemed to be getting into the real high school mode.
3. Slow by slow, their attitudes started changing and
their behavior seemed to have changes. However,
their performance never changed. Just as the way
they came from primary was still the way they were in
secondary school in their performance. That year
they have work so hard to prepare for grade 10 as
they have heard many stories that not everybody
makes it through to grade 11 from grade 10.
Therefore, they did not have time to waste and they
read hardcore. Examination came and the two still
maintained their discipline. They studied harder and
they made it to grade 10.
The grade 10 year came and they nailed it.
After grade 10 they were sent off to a school that had
grade 11 a Senior Secondary School. They were both
sent to Haimbili Haufiku Secondary School where
they completed their grade 11 and 12.
After they completed grade 12, they went into the long
holiday and calmly waited for their results. By then,
Nangula was 18, a much-matured woman. They been
doing just good. Christmas came and passed.
Time for the results came and they both made it. Now
it was the big time for a new life. Varsity! City of the
4. lights and the buildings! City of the fuckboys & hoes!
A place where transformation is a daily dose!
Their parents started preparing them for the city and
their studies. Nangula had dreams of studying abroad
but her life situation could not permit it. Therefore,
with her 52 points, she was going to the University of
Namibia. Her friend had 46 points and she was to go
to the University of Namibia. Nangula's mom put
together the money she had been saving and gave it
to her daughter.
