Apr 12 – till date HINDUSTAN POWER PROJECTS PRIVATE LIMITED (HPPL) Delhi, India
HPPPL, formerly known as Moser Baer Power Projects Pvt Ltd, is an electrical power developer in
India and is the fastest growing integrated power company in India.
Group Head – CSR and Chief Functionary– Moser Baer Trust
Heading end-to-end responsibilities for CSR activities with accountability for developing and
implementing CSR strategies, policies, communications and reporting, external representation and
internal CSR integration, financial management, program management, governance, training &
development and stakeholder/team management with team of 11 professionals and 60 para-
professionals. Reporting to Board of Directors / CSR Committee and Chairman.
Heading both Hindustan Power Project and Moser Baer Trusts and leading all social commitments
at local, regional and global levels.
 Joined with set of directives aimed at starting and strengthening HPPPL’s CSR function along
with local area development for sites as mandated by regulatory authorities:
o Ensuring successful implementation of rehabilitation and resettlement initiatives for people
displaced
o Building rapport and long term relations with communities around project areas; optimizing
stakeholder management with local/state government agencies and bodies
NGO/Trust Management
 Serving as Chief Executive for both HPPL and Moser Baer trusts; SPOC (Single Point of
Contact) between the trust and corporate led CSR activities
 Involved in program planning, design and development, execution, supervision, site monitoring,
analysis, financial management, HR and stakeholder management
Strategic Initiatives
 Formulating long/short term CSR strategies and action plans in line with the overall
organizational objectives and goals
 Defined the CSR framework including policies, processes and systems; brought in
professionalism and developed a 5 year plan with concrete metrics and milestones
 Focused on ensuring all CSR initiatives/programs include direct engagement with the
community for effective execution and goal achievement
 Ensured CSR programs are strategically designed to include integration of cross-cutting themes
of affirmative action, gender mainstreaming, people’s participation & proactive partnerships:
o Conducted extensive analysis, research and need assessments to ensure programs are
designed and focused on specific need/requirements of the targeted areas
o Designed programs which included all elements of need, measurability, scalability and
sustainability

 Ensuring all financial reporting is done on time and filed accurately in line with the NGO norms
and guidelines

 Liaising and coordinating regularly with internal stakeholders to obtain buy-ins on CSR/trust
engagements
 Ensuring all local operations incorporate CSR activities right from the business planning stage
and are implemented as directed

 Training and mentoring team members and other professionals/para-professionals; pioneered
trainings for all employees on gender sensitization and CSR trainings to external stakeholders
