ENVIRONMENT SUSTAINABILITY
To create awareness and make use of a recyclable resources, solid waste
management, renewable sources of energy to the possible extent with the
outcome of reduction carbon footprint and gifting healthy environment to
future generation.
Waste collection vehicle
For a proper waste management and to clean the environment, it
provides major environmental benefits such as less overall harm to the
ecosystem and decreased pollution. The most important benefit of waste
collection is the protection of nature and health of the entire population, waste
segregation is included in law because it is much easier to recycle. Effective
segregation of wastes means that less waste goes to landfill which makes it
cheaper and better for people and the environment. The garbage truck
provided to the villages through Panchayat Development Officer is a truck
specially designed to collect municipal solid waste from door to door, sweeping
streets and garbage collection on a regular basis became the hallmark and
transport it to waste recycling plants.

Swachh Bharat Abhiyan
"Nirmal Gram" was the name given to Swachh Bharat Programme, along
with Luwa employee volunteers, TCF and people residing in villages of
Kulumepalya, Gangadharanapalya and Veerananjipura visited homes of the
villages. The Nirmal Gram programme commenced with a “Awareness Walk” at
the Kulumepalya village, they distributed pamphlets on the Swachh Bharat
Programme prepared pamphlets in both English as well as in regional language i.e.
Kannada, also accompanied by the donated waste collection vehicle.
They made people of the villages aware of how to keep the environment safe and
clean along with the residents, migrants, minorities, children, women and youth
gave tips how to keep the environment safe and clean. It sensitized the community
about cleanliness, solid waste management and its significance in leading a healthy
life. Communities took a Swachh Pledge as a part of Swachh Bharat Mission to
propagate message of cleanliness in villages & towns. More than 35 volunteers
from Luwa India, TCF and local population actively participated to make the event
a success. During the event, posters and banners showing environmental friendly
messages had been displayed to public and they were encouraged to plant more
trees and reduce pollution levels at individual level. The public was educated by
the volunteers about the air quality and impact of air pollution on health.
During this activity views and feedback from public had also been collected on
what they think we have to do to improve our environment. We received a
tremendous response from local public which made the event a success and made
this as a first step towards sensitizing them about high level of pollution level in
their area and their role to reduce the same for betterment of environment. The
mission and objectives of Swachh Bharath Abhiyan were explained to the students
and posters were distributed to them. Children took active part in displaying the
posters at vantage points, during the campaign the volunteers collected the plastic
bags and papers in the pavement and separated them into bio-degradable and
non-bio-degradable waste. Waste collection bins were provided to each
household, the collected wastes are stored in individual containers accordingly.
The team discussed with the local folk about the consequence of their own
environment and suggestions were given to them with an assurance of providing
them with accessories to make and maintain their environment clean with the
focus to have a disease free zone.
