                      1. Input : is any datd or instructions used by a computer.
Input devices :translate words , images , and actions into a form a computer can
                          process.

                       2. Keyboards : are the most common way to input data . common types are
                          traditional , ergonomic , wireless , PDA , and virtual .
Pointing devices : accept pointing gestures and convert them to machine –
                          readable input .
Scanning devices : scanners move across text abd graphics . scanning devices
convert scanned text abd images into a form that can be processed by the
                          system unit .

Image capturing devices : create or capture original images.

Audio input devices :convert sounds into a form that can be processed by the
system unit .

3. Output : is data or information processed by a computer .
Output devices : translate processed text, graphics, audio ,video into a form
   humanes can understand.

4. Features of Monitord :
   1-Resolution .
   2- Dot ( pixel ) pitch .
   3- refresh rate .
   4- Size .
   5- Aspect ratio .
   different types of monitors :
Flat-panel monitors : have become the standard for computer systems.
Cathode-ray tubes : used technology similar to older televisions.
Three specialized types of monitors rae e-book readers ,digital whiteboards ,
and high – definition television (HDTV ).
   Features of printers :
   1- Resolution.
   2- Color.
   3- Speed.
   4- Memory.
   5- Duplex printing.
        different types of Printers :
Ink-jet printers :spray ink at high speed onto the surface of paper .
Laser printers : use technology similar to photo copying machines .Tow
categories are personal and shared .
Other printers include cloud printing , thermal printers ,plotters, photo
        printers ,and protable printers .
5. Audio and video devices : audio – output devices translate audio information
from the computer into sounds that people can understand.
Portable media players : also known a digital media players , store and play
   digital media .
Mobile DTV : technology supports television broadcasting directly to
smarphones , computers , and digital media players .

6. Many devices combine input and output capabilities.Sometimes this is done to
save space .Other times it is done for very specialized applications .
   For examples :
Fax Machines : send and receive images via standard telephone lines .
Multifunctional devices: typically combine the capabilities of a scanner , printer ,
fax , and copy machine .
7. Internet Telepgones : receive and send voice communication . Voice pver IP
(VOIP) , also known as telephony . Internet telephony , and IP telephony , uses
the Internet to transmit telephone calls. Four providers are
   Ooma,vonage,MagicJack , and skype.
