Ramsey
Bryant
was
employed
by
Strand
Diagnostics
for
3
years
until
a
contraction
of
our
business
resulted
in
the
elimination
of
her
position
as
National
Sales
Manager
on
March
4,
2015.
Ramsey
was
hired
by
Strand
in
March
2012
as
an
account
manager
working
from
her
home
office
in
Phoenix,
AZ.
Her
job
was
to
expand
the
use
of
Strand’s
DNA
Specimen
Provenance
Assay
(DSPA)
by
servicing
existing
urology
and
breast
practices
as
well
as
opening
and
setting-‐up
new
accounts.
Ramsey
excelled
in
this
role.
Her
work-‐ethic
was
stellar,
her
critical-‐thinking
skills
were
very
crisp,
and
her
ability
to
present
DSPA
to
disparate
audiences
was
impressive.
She
was
as
comfortable
presenting
to
the
chief
doctor
of
a
100
man
practice
as
she
was
presenting
to
a
histotech
in
a
hospital
lab.
In
2013,
Ramsey
was
promoted
to
Business
Development
Director
whereby
she
again
exceeded
expectations.
Not
only
did
she
continue
to
open
new
accounts,
but
she
displayed
leadership
skills
by
volunteering
to
mentor
a
newly
hired
account
manager
who
had
no
previous
selling
nor
laboratory
selling
skills.
She
taught
this
new
colleague
how
to
sell
as
well
as
introduced
him
to
the
urology,
breast
and
anatomical
pathology
markets
(explaining
medical
terms,
OIG
compliance
issues,
work-‐flows,
etc.).
She
did
so
with
great
enthusiasm
and
she
did
more
than
what
was
asked.
In
the
end,
she
produced
a
successful
account
manager.
In
2014,
in
recognition
of
her
superior
skills
including
coaching
and
mentoring
others,
Ramsey
was
promoted
to
National
Sales
Manager.
She
did
a
fabulous
job
of
recruiting,
hiring,
indoctrinating,
and
leading
new
sales
people.
Her
efforts
resulted
in
Strand
exceeding
sales
forecasts
for
which
all
Strand
stakeholders
are
deeply
grateful.
In
February
2015,
due
to
Medicare
reimbursement
issues,
Strand
decided
to
concentrate
all
of
its
direct
sales
efforts
to
the
Eastern
half
of
the
US
and
thus
eliminated
all
sales
positions
in
the
West
and
Southwest
US.
Ramsey
was
given
the
option
of
staying
with
Strand
and
servicing
accounts
and
sales
people
on
the
East
coast.
She,
however,
realized
that
being
stationed
in
the
Southwest
and
having
to
service
accounts/manage
sales
people
located
in
the
East
was
a
non-‐sustainable
situation.
Further,
she
realized
that
her
departure
would
provide
more
“headroom”
and
thus
avoid
the
elimination
of
additional
sales
positions.
In
short,
Ramsey
“took
one
for
HER
team”….
a
remarkably
unselfish
gesture
on
Ramsey’s
part,
though
not
surprising
given
what
I
know
about
her
sense
of
honor
and
her
sense
of
responsibility
as
a
leader.
Ramsey
is
an
incredible
young
woman
who
would
be
fabulous
for
any
company
fortunate
enough
to
employ
her.
